The board agreed to change the July meeting to the "' versus the 17".
. Variance Request guest- 40 Uncle Henry's Toad
Mr. sanicki was present on behalf of the applicant for this property. He
began by stating that for the record they did notify the abutters. They
notified them for the previous week. Apparently the board cancelled that
greeting so they are here tonight. They were in a flood zone and if was a
little property. INGVD were elevation 68 and runs a little higher back
around this corner. lir. sanicki is pointing to the plan at this point to
bine.) Admittedly this area is a little pocket area in a flood gone. The
other problem here is that when they get heavy rains it puddles in their
yams. He admits and understands the problem. The catch basin is out
front. He couldn"t do anything out front. It doesn't handle it that well. It
did not surprise him. You look at the soil test You have weeping at 4871
down from the surface of the teat hole, That correlates to elevation 2.6.
Below that they have peat. He knows that this whole damn hole in here
every one of these other houses in the hole is built on excavated peat or
are on peat. It guns right through this whole area. He has to excavate the
peat and take out the sandy loam going right down to the good better
sand while stripping this out. He recognizes the puddle problem. Keeping
this systeim•*and asking for a variance four feet to groundwater versus the 4
five required in sand. He was asking for this so that he didn't have to
mound this system. He wasn't using the standard two-foot sidewall
allowed, He was putting in a shallow " system. He was only using
bobrnry in this configuration. He was trying to keep things short so
that he wasn't stacking things higher out of the ground. The minimum
cover was 911.
Mr. Ball asked if it was g from the original grade.
Mr. sanic i responded that it was g" for the whole system. His fixed grade
would be 8-8 over the system. This area in here is 6 over here and 7 in
here and 8 here. This jumps up a hill in this area. He believed that this
was cut out at one time. He was trying to minimize the impact on the
flooding and everything else. He couldn't design a shallower system to
make it lower. if the board didn't grant him a four-foot variance he would
have to bring this up higher. There had already been concerns by the
neighbors that the more fill he places will displace the floodwaters.
Mr. Bali asked if he could displace it to go this way.
Mr. sanicki noted that it was basically going to slope just like it was
towards the house and street, He was providing a bean here for normal
situations such as light rains and so forth. 1f there is a bell of a rain or a
5
