I
f
i
a
couple of proposals for the fiscal year. The first one noted that they would
mow twice a year for $5,000.00. That was why they board wanted him to
come in here and discuss this with them. He wanted everyone to be on
the same pages He felt that every piece of grass on the liner needed to b
mowed. The bottom line was that they didn't want any trees or even some
weeds that had a strong enough tap root that could puncture the liner.
That was the last thing that the town would meed was to repair the liner.
It was a very expensive proposition. They had received another proposal,
which was public knowledge, and a little more expensive than his
company. But, they were listing four or five pieces of equipment with arra
mowers and the necessary equipment to get to the inaccessible areas. He
wanted to make sure that his company could do the same before they
approved this contract.
Mr. Esper interjected that he was unsure of what the inaccessible areas
would beg'
Mr. Santos responded that Mr. Esper had already brought up the really
steep areas.
Mr. Esper asked if this other company would be able to get to all of those
areas.
Ir. Santos responded that they went out there and looked at it.
Mr. Esper interrupted Mr. Santos and stated that to tell the truth he was
there when the man from the other company went up there. He didn't even
go up on top of the hill, He drove around hack by the firing range. He
wasn't disputing the fact that this man's company couldn't do the work.
Mr, Santos interrupted Mr. Esper and advised hire that he was the
supervisor of the Barnstable transfer station. The town mows that landfill
which was sixty-acres of mowing. They had hills that made the Ma hpee
landfill hills look like a bunny slope. They have mowers that go up and
down therm. He re-iterated that he wanted to make sure that they were all
on the sante page as to the interpretation of what the actual mowing of
the landfill entails. He would not speak for the other board members, But,
he wanted everything on top of the liner would be mowed. If it had to be
done by hand or whatever,
Mr. Esper felt that they were doing that other than one area that might not
have been cut, if there was one area that IVIS. Laurent had to cut or the
board felt that it was not being appropriately maintained, They should all
look at it together and thea probably have to re-visit the issue. He felt that
that was probably the only way they could rectify the situation. He wasn't
4
