Ms. Grady would also like to know what type of program they ran.
Ms. Warden then addressed the hiring of employees to do nothing other than stock
shelves. If they board did agree-with this request then the board should make it a
condition that the employees will not stock shelves that include potentially
hazardous foods. They could end up stocking sandwiches onto a hot holding
machine. She would also like to make sure that if they were transferring in from
another location as a manager. They must provide a copy of their ServSafe
certification to the hoard of health prior to their employment at the Mashpee Mobil
facility. The board would not know that they were certified.
Ms. Grady had a problem with the stock issue, too. She could just see this becoming
something other than ghat the original intent and purpose.
Mr. Harrington's recommendation to the hoard was that for number one and number
two was that any employee, not a certified food manager, shall not participate in the
preparation of pre-packaged.potentially hazardous foods or the preparation of
potentially hazardous foods period. But, again, hoer would they polio that?
Ms. Warden stated that in her opinion-1f they wanted to do something with these
people it should be behind the counter. As for them stocking shelves with potentially
hazardous foods, that perhaps created this whole situation. Nov they were asking for
the same thing,
Mr. Santos stated that his basic answers to numbers one, two and three was no, no
and no. They were in full agreement with the board's recommendation. They
basically came out an offered to have everyone ServSafe certified. The board was
going to request. Nov they wanted stipulations to that effect. Too late. They were
going to be on probation for a while in his eyes. It didn't make any difference to
have somebody pumping gas or behind the cash register. They needed to b
ServSafe certified. That was the restriction haat was placed on thein. They were not
going to be able to open back up and serve that food until the requirement was met.
He was curious as far as a clarification on the Cape Cod Care program. If it was
somebody that might cone in with a local employment type program. But, that
person would have to be working with a ServSafe person, They needed
clarification before they made a decision on that. He was not going to budge on
everyone working there being ServSafe certified. If they were here he would say it
three times to them. They were still on probation and until they could prove to them
that they have met all of the requirements. They will not get any favors.
Mr. Harringtn stated that they had a lot of other stores that they could conduct the
Cape Cod Care program at.
Mr. Santos felt that be wanted to be fair. But, they needed to prove they could do the
job properly to begin with before they mare allowances.
