Catherine reported that she had received a call from a <br /> Southport resident, saying that the community had contacted Waste Management,the company <br /> contracted to handle Southport's refuse pickup program,with a request to set up a recycling <br /> program for Southport. haste Management replied that the company does not offer a recycling <br /> program in Masbpee. The DEP and Department of Approved Recycling Programs(DARP) <br /> regulations state that refuse haulers such as Waste Management are required to offer recycling � <br /> programs, for a flat fee. Glenn Santos asked that Veronica Warden call Southport to confirm t.he <br /> complaint, then file a complaint letter to Waste Management, requiring that they conn into <br /> compliance with the regulation. Permits for refuse pickup can be revoked if the Hauler apes not <br /> comply with the regulation.
