project, planned for spring, is to add a garage with a bedroom, which will require a septic
upgrade. The Distribution Box is under the driveway, so will have to be replaced. The new
Title V system is to be installed in the spring of 2007.
Lucy-Burton rade a motion to approve the variance request with a 3 month timeline to
receive the engineer's plans,,and a 6 month timeline to receive the certificate of
compliance issued. Steven Ball seconded the motion. All approved.
i surnmerwood Condominiums—Title V Upgrade update
Diane Mulligan, representing the Surnmerwrood Condominium Association, introduced
herself to-the Board. Ills. Mulligan stated that the Association hes been working very hard
over the past year, together with Jack Landers-Ceuley, to put together a septic plan. They
have now learned that the system they had been working with 'was not going to be
effective for the denitrification aspect. The Association is now looking for additional time
to continue with rernedial measures currently going on with the existing system, so that
other options can be explored.
Jack Landers-Cauley stated that the DBP is requiring that they do one system: not three
phases, because they are over 10,000 gal. flow. The only, other option is to look into
hooking into the Mashp a Commons treatment plant..
Glen Harrington made the following comments/suggestions:
- do an interim measure
allow, the system to work and find a financial vehicle to put money aside for a
future new system
- contacting the DBP again is the first step
touch base with Il ashpee Commons to possibly tie into a surer system within the
next 5 years. The BOH then at least has the option to grant an extension
town sewers are not a good option at this point in time-the reality of town sewers
is years away
Lucy Burton made a ,notion to continue the Summerwrood Condominium Association Title
upgrade decision until the net BOH ,meeting on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, until the
Condominium Association meets with Ma tepee Commons and DEP to discuss interim
,measures.
