r <br /> Due to the fact that the housing authority cannot apply for funding, Mrs. Mills suggested that <br /> goal be changed and requested that the Executive Director create and implement action plan t <br /> provide affordable housing for seniors and families of Mashpe . Ms. Rudd indicated that the <br /> Executive Director cannot do this alone given all the other adr6nistrative responsibilities of the <br /> position and that there needs to be a working board to help assist. <br /> The Board would like to invite Jinn Peters, Director of the Tribal Council to sit and meet with the <br /> Board and get an idea as to how the Mashpee Dousing Authority can assist the Tribal Council in <br /> their endeavors to apply for Indian housing monies. Ifs. Frnno will try to arrange a meeting <br /> with Mr. Peters and/or members of the Tribal Council. <br /> The Board was reminded that Ms. Reed is currently in the second year of a two year Contract and <br /> therefore, the issue of contract was not addressed at this time. <br /> Subsequent to further discussion surrounding the area of affordable housing and resources for <br /> same Motion was made by Ms. F rmino and seconded by Ms. Younger to accept the <br /> Performance Flan as presented. The motion was adopted. <br /> Executive Director's Report: <br /> Ms. heed reported on the following: <br /> The Mashpe Housing Authority held a birthday party for one of the residents of Senior housing <br /> who turned 93 on 9/16/97. Representative Torn Chir presented her With a Citation from the <br /> House ofRepresentatives; Ms. Rudd was present representing the Board,Lynn Waterman <br /> represented the Senior Center and all residents attended. <br /> Attended the Section 8 lean McKay workshop which dealt with the 3rd conforming rule regarding <br /> the Section 8 program and the many changes anticipated. Also attend the FRJD sponsored MTS <br /> workshop which also dealt with Section 8 and transmitting information on Section 8 participants <br /> to HUD electronically. Ms. Reed attended these workshops so that.the Mashpee Housing <br /> Authority can be kept abreast of changes and be consistent with procedures of issuing authorities <br /> since we host 23 CertificatesNouhers from 13 various authorities throughout Massachusetts. <br /> Attended SMEDA meeting which focused on the PH ST file program. The PHAST file is <br /> program set up by Computers Works, which acts as the holder of data and allows housing <br /> authorities to talk to each other regarding applicants for pudic housing. This is an excellent tool <br /> to assist housing authorities in screening applicants. Further discussion of PEIAST file was <br /> tabled.until more information is obtained with regard to cost. <br /> Attended a workshop conducted by Pat Grace relative to the proposed changes in regulations. <br /> November 131, 1997 will be a hearing on the final draft which seeks to combine several regulations <br /> into one. <br /> Tery B aril's resignation has advised that her resignation will be effective 11-2 -9'7. Ms. heed <br />
