NEW BUSINESS:
sir's Path HUD 202 Grant: Mrs. Botsford informed the board that Mr. 3uhl was here to report
n the application we submitted to HUD for 202 funding for the Asher's Path senior housing
project. A copy of Mr. 3uhl's letter to Mfrs. Botsford what given to all board members and
reviewed in full. Mr. 3uhl stated that there was four grant awards given and we were the
runner up, which is very good for us and shows that we had an extremely strong application.
The scoring was reviewed and Mr. 3uhl suggested changes to increase our scoring for our next
submission. Mir, 3uhl then went on to explain that there was'bad news". After explaining in
detail the circumstances surrounding it, Mfr. 3uhl explained that The Community Builders has
had penalties imposed on them that prevents them from applying for HUD grants for the next
round. Mr. Juhl went on to suggest that the housing authority's non-profit can submit the
application instead and TCB can be the development consultant and help with the submittal.
motion was made by Mr. Peoples and seconded by Mr. Halpern to have the Mashpee
Affordable Housing Trust submit the grant application to HUD in the next funding
round with the help of The Community Builders* The notion was adopted.
A short discussion ensued regarding the members of the Mashpee Affordable Housing Trust.
Mfrs. Botsford explained that we need four more members who are not affiliated with the
housing authority. It was suggested that all members ask one person each.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
Mfrs+ Botsford remarked that she had nailed her reports to the board for the month of January.
It is attached to these minutes as A tachme t A,
Mrs, Botsford added the following report, which was briefly discussed:
0 I have sent the annual request to the Records Conservation Board asking to destroy old
records. I arra awaiting their permission.
0 1 have completed all annual rec rtifications for both Hom yer Village and Breezy Acres.
Annual inspections will be done net month.
I have arranged to do our CORIs over the Internet now, which will save us weeks in
getting back the reports.
0 I had my regular quarterly meeting with the Homey r Village residents. It was fairly
well attended and I felt the meeting went well. Some of the residents have shown an
interest in re-establishing a tenants organization, so I reviewed the process for
recognition with therm and provided a copy of the state regulations, some of the
residents (most of thea newer ones) were not aware that, even though my office is
located here, Horney r Village is only or should be only) about 0% of my caseload.
I am conducting a short survey with the residents (which I've done every other year) to
get their feedback on changes they would like to see, whether or not they read the
newsletter, want more social activities, etc.
I was not able to attend the meeting of the Mlashp a Affordable Housing Committee to
meet with the consultant hired for the new comprehensive plan; however, I have been
in communication with McGregor and Associates to help thea with whatever they need.
I received a response (today) from DHCD regarding the letter we sent then in
November asking for some financial relief due to the recent large maintenance expenses
Page 2 of 2
