Mr. Benz to become a Building Committee mer would pose a <br /> potential "conflict of interest'" situation, however he would be <br /> allowed to attend and participate at Building committee Meetings <br /> as a Non-Voting Member. <br /> Apparently Darlene Powers has expressed some concern upon <br /> learning of these developments. The Library Director has assured <br /> her that. the ,committee has just become aware of these situations <br /> and feels confident all panties involved will be able to proceed <br /> towards the common goal; and that the Town of mashpee is her <br /> client, with considerations made to mashpee Commons . <br /> Thia chairman reported that all informal conversations with <br /> Fields ointashpee Commons over the past 18-months have been <br /> nothing less than supportive and cooperative. <br /> Both Grace Talmage and Ernest Cole agreed they dad not <br /> anticipate any difficulties regarding design approval/review from <br /> ashpee Commons. <br /> The Chairman addressed the matter of payment of the first <br /> . one-third installment due to Powers and Company. The Library <br /> Director reported a recommendation from' this Building Committee <br /> is required in order to submit an invoice for payment . <br /> LOTION: Grace Talmage made a Motion to approve payment of <br /> said one-third installment to Powers and Company and to authorize <br /> the Library Director to process the required invoice; which <br /> Motion was seconded by Ernest Cole and so voted unanimously. <br /> Ed DeFoe made reference to the draft, noting a number of <br /> minor errors which 'have been brought to the architect' s attention <br /> and which have been corrected. He also noted the architect ' s <br /> model which has been based upon design specifications provided by <br /> the Library Director appears to be acceptable. <br /> The Library Director stated she is pleased with the general <br /> design. She reported that the architect has requested any <br /> changes made at this Meeting be faxed to her. <br /> There was general discussion regarding the twenty-year need <br /> Native American volumes, possible multi-function spaces, <br /> co mnity services, possible meeting/conference room space. <br /> The Library Director stated the architect has requested the <br /> Committee provide her with a- series of statements beginning with <br /> the phrase "You should be able to. . . 'f <br /> k <br /> There was discussion revolving around the identity of the <br /> ashpee Community and how it should be incorporated/reflected ` <br /> into the Library building. <br /> r <br /> The Chairman made reference to the Massachusetts Library � <br /> i <br /> I ` <br /> I � <br /> i <br />
