Board of Appeals Minutes—October 28, 1998 5 <br /> Von F. & Susan N. Goodwin-Request a Special Permit under Section 174-20 of the <br /> Zoning By-laws for permission to demolish an existing cottage and construct a three- <br /> bedroom dwelling on property located in an R-5 zoning district at 50 Cove Road (Map 6 <br /> Block 3), Mashpee, MA. <br /> Members sitting: Edward M. Govoni, James E, Regan III and Robert G. Nelson, <br /> Mr. Goodwin represented his application stating that that the existing house, which is <br /> inside the conservation area, will be destroyed and construction of the new home will be <br /> well over 100 feet away from the bluff of Wakeby Pond, A new Title V septic system <br /> will be installed. The applicant is not seeking relief from any setback requirements of the <br /> zoning by-laws. An abutter,Donald Rose, expressed approval of the project, No other <br /> comments were received from abutters, <br /> Mr, Regan moved to grant the Special Permit, subject to findings 1,2,4,5,6. Mr, Nelson <br /> seconded. All agreed. <br /> Stephen J. & Denise M. Clifford -Request a Special Permit under Section 174-20 of the <br /> Zoning By.-laws for permission to remove an old block foundation and replace with a <br /> new concrete foundation on property located in an R-3 zoning district at 9 Elliot Road <br /> (Map 117 Block 129), Mashpee, MA. <br /> Members sitting: Edward M, Govoni, James B, Regan III and Robert G. Nelson, <br /> Mr. Brian Murphy represented the applicants. Mr. Govoni read a letter from an abutter, <br /> Dorothy Towne, in approval of the project. Mr. Murphy stated that the applicants plan to <br /> remove the existing block foundation and replace it with a new concrete foundation, Mr. <br /> Murphy asked if he could expand the foundation to 28 feet and move the building. Mr. <br /> Hauck informed the Board that the applicant could do so without violating any zoning <br /> by-laws as the application has been filed and advertised under the correct section of the <br /> by-laws. No comments were received from abutters. <br /> Mr. Regan moved to grant the Special Permit to remove the old foundation and replace it <br /> with a new foundation, subject to findings 1,4,5,6. Mr. Nelson seconded.
