Board of Appeals Minutes—October 28, 1998 6 <br /> John Slavinsky of Cape& Islands Engineering represented the applicant and stated that <br /> the owner proposes to extend the house sixteen feet and add a 26 foot by 24 foot garage. <br /> The sloping and narrow topography of the lot makes it necessary for the applicant to seek <br /> relief from the setback requirements, The existing cesspool will be removed and a new <br /> Title V septic system will be installed. The Conservation Commission has concerns and <br /> has asked the applicant to maintain a 50 foot buffer. He informed the Board that at the Design Review Committee Meeting <br /> of October 14, 1998 further landscaping changes have been proposed. After meeting <br /> with Greg Taylor, Director, DPW, paving and grading will be done as specified by the <br /> Massachusetts State Highway Department and as indicated on the plan. Berms and the <br /> slope of the street will prevent the water from collecting on the streets. The applicant <br /> will patch potholes on Massasoit Avenue. The applicant will comply with the road <br /> details as outlined in the memo dated October 13, 1998 from Greg Taylor, Director. Mr. <br /> Nelson suggested that a base coat be laid down prior to issuing any building occupancy <br /> permits. Mr. Hauck indicated that the applicant has not submitted revised plans for <br /> i approval by Design Review. These plans will then be submitted to the Board of Appeals. <br /> t <br /> A neighbor, Chris Shute, indicated that he was satisfied with the plans. He expressed the <br /> opinion that no paving on Sassacus or filling of potholes on Massasoit is done to <br /> i discourage traffic from coming down those heavily populated streets.
