Board of Appoals January 0, 1992 K <br /> Mr . Bowes submitted written requests for withdrawal on both <br /> petitions . Mr . Makunas moved to grant the request for <br /> withdrawal without prejudice on both applications . Mr . Govoni <br /> seconded . All agreed . <br /> Mr . Spohr asked if the Board would consider a request for <br /> withdrawal an Thomas F . Smith and was informed to prepare the <br /> request for consideration later in the evening . <br /> Request a Special Permit under Sections <br /> 174-25 . 10 . 1 , 174-25 & . 5 and 174-25 , G . 6 of the toning Dy- laws <br /> for permission to operate a wholesale and retail food, gr6in <br /> and garden supply business in an R-3 zoning district on <br /> property located at 544 Main St , ( Map 20, Block 24 ) Mashpee, <br /> MA . ( Owner of record ; Christopher S . Cushman, TP ) . <br /> Members sitting : W . Hanrahan, M . Makunas , E, Govoni. <br /> Mery Hardwick represented the Petition and explained that he <br /> had conducted this business in Sandwich for five years and <br /> this building offered the chance for expansion . Mr . Hanrahan <br /> read comments from the Board of Health and from an abutter <br /> asking for rodent control at the site . He reviewed a lette-r- <br /> from the Mashpee Water District requesting that there be no <br /> increase in impervious surface on the lot and that storage of <br /> pesticides. etc . be within a building and limited to a 3-monl;h <br /> supply . <br /> Mr . Harmick said he would conform to these conditions and <br /> would only have smaLJ amounts of fertilizer . He said the <br /> grains are all sealed and spills axe costly . He said stock is <br /> turned regularly . <br /> Judy Mills. a Haslapee Selectman. stated that she was concerned <br /> with the condition of Echo Road . She said there have been 6 <br /> couple of permits iosued on the road and owners have pledged <br /> to repair the road . She asked if there was some way the Board <br /> could condition the permit , <br /> Mr . Haxwick explained that he had a one-year lease an the <br /> building and would be willing to fix up some of the holes , <br /> Mr . Makunas questioned if the road should be taken and done by <br /> betterment , <br /> Mr . Makunas stated that this particular site, formerly <br /> occupied by Eastern Lumber, should have gone to Design Review <br /> since the lot was never landscaped . He would now like Design <br /> Review to look at the site and see if it could be improved . <br /> The Board agreed to have the permit run with the leove to <br /> January 1 , 1993 , <br />
