Board of Appeals Minutes - October 23, 1991 4 .
W . Hanrahan : Bill , do ?
you have a statement .
W . Burtis : The only statement I have is that we ran out
of time, like I say, with a 90-day window,
and, another thing, financial wise, this thing
is running in the neighborhood of some of the
prices we ' ve gotten of $20, 000 to $30, 000 and
with the economy the way it is right now and
the setback of the hurricane, it put us back .
D . Boyd : It ' s basically 2, 7, 8 and . . . .
W . Hanrahan : Who is the member of the Commission?
G . Guimond ; Greg Guimond from the Staff . We became aware
of it when one of the residents C . C. ' d us a
copy of a letter that was sent to the Building
Inspector. Patty Daley, who is our counsel,
has been in discussion with Mr. Burtis and we
were under the information that only #2 had
not been complied with . We were unaware of
the landscaping -- we did not see any
landscaping -- or that the bond had not been
posted .
M . Makunas : Is that part of your interest --- the
landscaping?
G . Guimond : Well, we put a condition. . . the conditions
that you were reading, the local -- we had
seven conditions on it and #6 was
"landscaping . . . shall be determined by the
local Special Permit granting authority" so we
empowered you to take care of it .
M . Makunas ; So that is not one of your concerns?
G . Guimond : Right -- basically it is #2 that we are
concerned with . The sub-committee has been
contacted and they are willing to recommend to
the full Commission an extension of 90 days
for Mr. Burtis to complete #2 upon receipt of
a letter which states the items that need to
be completed and the frame of dates he expects
to have them completed and that would take
place at the next meeting of the full
Commission .
W. Hanrahan : When would that be?
G . Guimond : I believe it is two weeks . We were supposed
to have a meeting this week but they didn ' t .
W. Hanrahan : So ultimately we go 90 days and two weeks or
about 105 days approximately you"d expect it
to be complied with. Bill, do you feel that
regarding the 90-days -- or is it going to be
coming back to the same thing all over again?
W . Burtis : I hope not .
W. Hanrahan : I think everybody in the room hopes not but do
you think realistically?
1' W . Burtis : I think so .
W. Hanrahan : Any comments?
