Board of Appeals Minutes -- April 10, 1991 6. <br /> s <br /> Comments cont. <br /> Jeremy Carter - Mr. Carter said that he believes the people <br /> in Mashpee enjoy the flea market. He said, however, that he has <br /> numerous concerns: <br /> 1. have to consider the impact from Job's Fishing Road which <br /> is now open and the intent of the Town is to make it an <br /> intersection with Donna's Lane <br /> 2. the traffic will be a tremendous impact <br /> 3. he considered the tents a structure which would require <br /> Cape Cod Commission approval <br /> 4. he said he did not see 493 designated parking spaces <br /> 5. public safety will require more traffic control at Job's <br /> Fishing road <br /> 6. on renewal for five years he had concerns that the Board <br /> lose control or know who is actually managing the property <br /> 7. he questioned if Board has authority to transfer the permit <br /> Diane Pettingill - Mashpee Chamber of Commerce - said the Chamber <br /> is for the Flea Market but would ask that all of the vendors be <br /> required to have a Transient Vendors License. She asked the Board <br /> to consider the appearance of tents from Route 28 with a circus <br /> look. <br /> Verna Collins - said the flea market was recreation for family <br /> and nice for children. <br /> Ty Christian - Dick and Ellie's bring vacationers to this area <br /> and we need to bring business to Mashpee. <br /> Marcia Jordan - owner of former Pickwick's Restaurant -- flea <br /> market brings customers to all business in Mashpee <br /> Al Ringalini - vendor at Flea Market - tents would bring more <br /> substantial vendors -- Dick and Ellie's is a well-run flea market <br /> Irene Gross - vendor - said many vendors hire Mashpee residents <br /> to work on their booths <br /> Louis Marandola - he said he ran the Fabio's Restaurant and <br /> said a five-year permit would make it more stable. He said there <br /> is now uncertainty each year as to when and if it will open. <br /> Roger Derosier - vendor - has been at flea market for 13 years <br /> and would recommend a 5--year permit. <br /> Wolfgang Newman - works for Fabio's - said people will work <br /> to alleviate parking problems <br /> David Ferguson - said he works in the hospitality industry <br /> in Hyannis and Dick and Ellie's Flea Market is a tourist attraction <br /> throughout the Cape. <br />
