Board of Appeals Minutes -- April 10, 1991 6. s Comments cont. Jeremy Carter - Mr. Carter said that he believes the people in Mashpee enjoy the flea market. He said, however, that he has numerous concerns: 1. have to consider the impact from Job's Fishing Road which is now open and the intent of the Town is to make it an intersection with Donna's Lane 2. the traffic will be a tremendous impact 3. he considered the tents a structure which would require Cape Cod Commission approval 4. he said he did not see 493 designated parking spaces 5. public safety will require more traffic control at Job's Fishing road 6. on renewal for five years he had concerns that the Board lose control or know who is actually managing the property 7. he questioned if Board has authority to transfer the permit Diane Pettingill - Mashpee Chamber of Commerce - said the Chamber is for the Flea Market but would ask that all of the vendors be required to have a Transient Vendors License. She asked the Board to consider the appearance of tents from Route 28 with a circus look. Verna Collins - said the flea market was recreation for family and nice for children. Ty Christian - Dick and Ellie's bring vacationers to this area and we need to bring business to Mashpee. Marcia Jordan - owner of former Pickwick's Restaurant -- flea market brings customers to all business in Mashpee Al Ringalini - vendor at Flea Market - tents would bring more substantial vendors -- Dick and Ellie's is a well-run flea market Irene Gross - vendor - said many vendors hire Mashpee residents to work on their booths Louis Marandola - he said he ran the Fabio's Restaurant and said a five-year permit would make it more stable. He said there is now uncertainty each year as to when and if it will open. Roger Derosier - vendor - has been at flea market for 13 years and would recommend a 5--year permit. Wolfgang Newman - works for Fabio's - said people will work to alleviate parking problems David Ferguson - said he works in the hospitality industry in Hyannis and Dick and Ellie's Flea Market is a tourist attraction throughout the Cape.
