r <br /> MASHM-ASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR M TING `JULY 127 1999 PAGE <br /> Mr. Fluery said Lisa Cooper, the Head custodian from his former school <br /> district, will be visiting the schools on July 1 , 1999 to inspect the floors <br /> and resolve some of-the issues with the flooring. <br /> Also discussed was the room utilization at the high school for next year. <br /> Mrs. Mills expressed dissatisfaction vdth the protocol followed prior to the <br /> Carnival recently held at the high school. School officials were not <br /> informed of their arrival. <br /> Concerns were raised regarding smoking on school grounds and Leisure <br /> Services after-school supervision. <br /> 7. FY 000 Budget Review - Bookkeeper Gail'Scor fe addressed the <br /> Committee on the FY99 and FY2000 printouts. <br /> At this point, a memo from Facilities Manager Don Cook was discussed. <br /> Due to the new custodian/maintenance contract regarding building <br /> checks, the fo owi.ng transfers were recommended-. <br /> From: <br /> Account #560 RCC Custodian Overtime $12500 <br /> Account #1.460' Quashnet Custodian Overtime $1,500 <br /> Account #1073 Nigh School custodian Overtime s 1,500 <br /> To: <br /> Account #1730 Maintenance Sal Overtime $75,500 <br /> Motion made by Mr. Paxton, seconded by Nis. Macdonald, to approve the <br /> above-listed budget transfers. <br /> V T : Unanimous <br /> 7.6 June Suspensions-The High School June suspensions totaled 39. <br /> There were four Saturday School sessions held in .lune with a total of 71 <br /> students assigned a Saturday School Detention. 'Twenty-two cuts were <br /> noted with eight resulting in two-day suspensions and the remaining to <br /> roll over to September. F <br /> �. Specifically 8.1 Grade One Age Requirement- School Committee Policy JED,, <br /> Assigned "Entrance Age" was discussed in order to amend it to include ars age <br /> UETmished requirement gate for entry into the first grade. Children would be required <br /> Business to be six years of age on or before August 3 1 ofthe school year during <br /> which they wish to enroll in first grade. This policy rill be effective as of <br /> September 2000 and will be voted upon at the ,August meeting. <br /> IX. New Business 9.1 School Committee Goals FY2000 - This item will be discussed at <br /> the August 10thregular meeting. <br /> 9.2 Recess Monitors -• Mr. Fluery said that after conferring with the <br /> principals, recess monitors would have to he retained in the budget. They <br /> are currently included in the FY2000 budget. <br />
