x <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING - DECEMBER 1, 1999 PAGE <br /> Mr. Fluery discussed the Capital Improvement issues. The three top <br /> priorities for the school department are: the dishwasher, staining of the <br /> wood at the high school, and the school van. <br /> Also, Mr. Fluery noted Marina Brock from r the Barnstable County <br /> Department of Health attended a roundtable meeting with the principals <br /> today to discuss hazardous items in schools. A building non-compliance <br /> audit during the Christmas break will be conducted. Air quality tests will <br /> be done in the buildings in the future. <br /> 7.5 FY 000 Budget Review - Mr. M Gown inf orrjn d the Committee the <br /> School Department will undergo a computer conversion very soon which <br /> ill allow us to generate reports more easily. Also, he'll be meeting with <br /> principals regarding their budgets. <br /> Mr. McCown also recommended the Committee adopting a policy <br /> regarding use of facilities by non-profit organizations for the direct benefit <br /> F of Mashpe students. This policy v�ill � voted on at the December 81h <br /> budget meeting. <br /> Also, a budget transfer memo will be voted on that the December 8th <br /> meeting. <br /> Mrs. Cooly expressed concerns, about the graduation budget. There <br /> currently is no line item for graduation. Mr. Fluery will discuss with Mr. <br /> Brown. <br /> 7.6 High School Room Utilization - 2000-2001 School Year - Mr. <br /> Brovm was attending the high school athletic awards ceremoney this <br /> evening, therefore Mr. Fluery said Mr. Brown will address this issue in the <br /> future. <br /> 7.7 Superintendent' Office Reorganization - Mr. Fluery recommended <br /> postponing any movement of the Superintendent's office to another <br /> location at this time. The.office will remain where it is until the end of this <br /> school year. <br /> Discussion ussion followed on the staff in the Superintendent's office. Mr. Fluery <br /> discussed the receptionist position as well as an urgent need for data <br /> entry, a two-week person will contracted to perform those duties. <br /> 7. Out-of-School Suspensions - At 'the high school level, the total <br /> number of suspensions were 1 for the month of November 1999. There <br /> were three Saturday School sessions with a total of 38 students assigned. <br /> DTIII.
