4 <br /> i <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE MITT - REGULAR MEETING - FEBRUARY 2, Zoo PGE 2 <br /> Mr. Fluery discussed the process in which the elementary <br /> reorganization was developed. He said there was agreement among <br /> the administrators to begin the reorganization in September 2000. <br /> Motion made by Ms. Macdonald, seconded by Mr. Paxton, to <br /> approve the elementary reorganization effective September 2000 <br /> NOTE: Unanimou s <br /> Mr. Fluery thea asked each administrator to address the audience <br /> on their thoughts of the reorganization. The administrators each <br /> spoke in favor of implementing the elementary reorganization as <br /> proposed. <br /> Each School Committee then addressed the audience on their <br /> feelings of the reorganization. All members spoke in favor of <br /> implementing the elementary reorganization effective September <br /> 2000. <br /> W. Acknowledgments Due to the lateness of the hour, Mrs. Lynch asked to place the <br /> "Acknowledgments" on the March agenda. <br /> V, Communications Due to the lateness of the hour, Mrs. Lynch asked to place the <br /> "Communications" also on the March agenda. <br /> Vi. Student Advisory Due to the late hour, student Advisory Council representative <br /> Council Council Chris Maguire was unable to remain at the meeting. <br /> However, Mrs. Lynch read a report that Chris had prepared. In it, <br /> the following high school activities were mentioned: Senior Bowling <br /> Night; the Semi-formal is set for February ; the Spaghetti <br /> Dinner was held on January 27 ; P �}a Day �1le February ; <br /> the first full Grades -12 concert was held .on January 31 t; Girls <br /> Basketball senior Night was held on January 27th while the Boys <br /> Senior Night is scheduled for Febrmuary4th; Basketball Appreciation <br /> Day for boys is February 8thand the girls is February 16th. Also, <br /> chn*s mentioned in his report that the Boys Basketball team is in a <br /> very goad position to-mnake the State Tournament with a record of 8 <br /> wins and 6 losses. <br /> At this point, Mrs. Lynch asked the Committee permission n to move <br /> up 7.9, "Addition of New sports" Proposed Policy." Athletic Director <br /> Michael Horne addressed the Committee regarding the addition of <br /> new sports to the Mashpee High School Athletic program. After <br /> answring questions fromm the Committee, Mrs. Lynch suggested <br /> this policy be brought to the attention of the High Schoolsub- <br /> committee. <br />
