6 <br /> Environmental Oversight Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> February 14, 2008 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Review of Action Items: <br /> 10. Stormwater Biofilter: <br /> Work is in progress as it relates to evaluating Clean Water Solution's <br /> storm water biofilter. <br /> The Interim Director of Public Works will be requested to give input <br /> regarding the installation of the bio remediation swales along <br /> Quinaquissett Avenue. <br /> 11. Technolo Alications: <br /> It was noted the Interim Director of Public Works has requested additional <br /> information regarding the use of an IP camera at the Transfer Station for <br /> recycling studies. It was agreed the EOC would follow up on this <br /> recommendation in an effort to monitor and improve recycling activities. <br /> 12. Recycli <br /> It was agreed the Interim DPW Director would be consulted regarding the <br /> signage recommendation at the Transfer Station informing residents that <br /> recycling does not require a sticker and that recycling is free of charge. <br /> Ms. Laurent will be requested to print in bold lettering that recycling does <br /> not require a sticker in the annual sticker sale insert sent to all taxpayers. <br /> This information would also be transmitted to the MHS Environmental <br /> Club. <br /> Signage regarding the types of plastics such as 3 —7 and 1 —2 was <br /> discussed to help identify recyclable materials. <br /> It was also suggested that corrugated cardboard be moved to a more <br /> accessible location to improve vehicle circulation at the Transfer Station. <br /> Ms. Laurent would be consulted regarding the recycling initiatives. <br />
