Thirty <br /> candidates attended hockey ey tryouts recently and Head Coach Mr. Kirby wishes to keep <br /> all thirty candidates while only dressing twenty players for games. It was felt that an <br /> assistant hockey coach is needed due to the numbers of students and safety issues. <br /> Also, there were forty middle school boys and thirty middle school girls who signed up <br /> for basketball. With the numbers that high, it was felt there is a need for an additional <br /> boys' basketball team and an additional girls basketball team. The need for two <br /> additional coaches will ultimately depend on the number of students who attend the <br /> tryouts. <br /> Mr. Brown requested posting three coaching positions with the number of basketball <br /> positions will be based upon the number of students who try out for these teams. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Deis, to approve Mr. Brown's request <br /> for three additional coaches with the two basketball positions based upon the number of <br /> students. <br /> VOTE: Unanim u <br /> .2 Administrative Reports — Mrs. Cook noted in Mr. Horne's report that Kyle <br /> Hunt has been named to the South Shore League All Star team. <br /> Mrs. Mills questioned 11r. ugenblick's report regarding receiving calls from teachers <br /> who are having problems with their printers and computers. It was mentioned that the <br /> Apple computers need to be overhauled. <br /> Mrs. Cook questioned if the Plato labs are up and running`? r. Brown responded that <br /> Plato representatives have been contacted regarding consolidation problems with data. <br /> Their field representatives will be examining software. <br /> .3 Enrollments — Mr. Fluery updated the Committee on the latest school <br /> enrollments. They were: Coombs School—539; Quashnet School— 803; High School <br /> —961 with 46 Mashpee students attending Cape Cod Tech. <br /> Discussion followed regarding high school enrollments. Mrs. Cooly continues to be <br /> concerned with the Selectmen's request of"level funded"budgets vs."level serviced." <br /> .4 Out of School Suspensions—the 7th and Sib grade Suspension Deport reflected <br /> a total of 4 students receiving suspensions with 21 receiving Saturday School <br /> suspensions during the month of November. In Grades 9-12, there were 23 students <br /> receiving suspensions with 10 Saturday School suspensions. <br /> 8.5 Assistant Principal for Student Services Update — Mrs. Lou Ann St. Cyr <br /> discussed her concerns regarding GED students. She said there are currently three <br /> alternative settings for at-ri sk students. They are: i dual enroIIment; Tech Prep; <br />
