MA HPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING—JANUARY 7,2002 PACE 2 <br /> 5.3 Correspondence from Commissioner David Driscoll - Technology Plan — In <br /> his letter, Education Commissioner favid Driscoll informed the school department that <br /> the Mashpee School District Technology Plan has been approved through December <br /> 2002. Mrs. Cook ael nowedged Network Administrator Joe Augenblick for his efforts <br /> in obtaining this approval. <br /> 5.4 Correspondence from Coombs School Staff— Kitchen Staff— The Coombs <br /> School staff thanked the entire kitchen staff for their fine efforts this year. <br /> 5.5 Corresoondence from Mar lose Grady dated December 17, 2001 — School <br /> Nurse Leader Maryl ose Grady thanked the Committee for their support during the <br /> recent state budget crisis where the Health Services staff would have been drastically <br /> reduced. Fortunately, the funds were reinstated and the health assistants were called <br /> back to work. <br /> .6 Corresvondence from Joy Blackwood Regarding Coombs School and <br /> uashnt School PTD— In her correspondence, firs. Blackwood wanted to reconi, e <br /> the support provided by the Parent Teacher Organizations at the Coombs School and <br /> the Quashnet School this year. Mrs. Blackwood made presentations regarding the new <br /> math series and math issues regarding WAS and found both PTOs very receptive and <br /> supportive. <br /> 1. Communications Mrs. Cooly informed the Committee of ars event,"D in' the light Thing,"to be <br /> presented by Grade 6 students on January 'h at 9:1a.m. in the Quashnet School. <br /> V11. Student Advisory Student Advisory Council representative Kyle Hunt addressed the Committee stating <br /> Council everything is going very well at the high school." He commended Food Service <br /> Director Bob Scott for the food program at the high school this year. Also, Kyle <br /> discussed a proposal regarding exemption from finals for seniors to receive an % <br /> average in a certain course. Kyle will discuss this concept at the School Council <br /> meeting to be held on January 10' . It was suggested that Kyle survey local school <br /> districts to see if they participate in such ars incentive for seniors. <br /> Vill. Deport of the Mr. Fluery informed the Committee that Saul Adamsky will be taking over the <br /> Superintendent Substitute Call Service effective January 10.
