R <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR ULAI MEETING FEBRUARY Y ,2002 PACE <br /> 8.6.1 Introduction to TV Production Class—Motion made by Mrs. Mills,seconded <br /> by Mr. Caswell,to add"Introduction n TV Production"to the high school curriculum. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.6.2 Out-of-State Trip — Yearbook,Journalism Class — Mr. Brown addressed the <br /> Committee requesting their approval for an out-of-state trip for the Journalism teacher <br /> Sheila Arnold and two of her students to -visit the Columbia Scholastic Press <br /> Association Convention at Columbia University in New r1 City from March 20- <br /> March 22,2002. <br /> Motion made by Mrs.Mills, seconded by Mr. Thomas,to approve the above request. <br /> 'COTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.8 Smoking Survey—Mr. Brown presented a smoking survey as requested by the <br /> Cape Loci Tobacco Control Program Youth Action Alliance to be administered in the <br /> health classes. The surveys will be collected and given to the high school nurse <br /> following each class after which all surveys will be shredded. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> . l ecommissionin of-Employees-,P 1i y— There currently is no policy on th <br /> decommissioning of employees who are given school equipment, keys, etc. It was <br /> suggested to devise a sign-out form for all employees who are given school property <br /> during their employment. Mr.Tarlow will investigate devising such a policy/form. <br /> 8.10 "Pest Management" — Policy E A.1 — This is a first reading by the School <br /> Committee for this policy as suggested by the Massachusetts Association of School <br /> Committees. This policy implements the requirements contained within the Act for the <br /> Integrated Pest Management Plan. This policy will be voted upon at the March regular <br /> School Committee meeting. Y <br /> 8.11 "Physical Restraint of Students"—Policy Students"—P liyJK —This is another M - <br /> suggested policy which is also a first reading for the Committee. This policy will be <br /> voted upon at the March regular meeting. <br /> 8.12 Cape Cod Collaborative Space—Mr. Fluery addressed the issue of classroom <br /> space for the Cape Cod Collaborative at the Coombs School. He will discuss this with <br /> Walter Healey at the Cape&Islands Superintendents' meeting on February 8,2002. <br /> IX. Specifically Assigned/ Mr. Tarlow announced a settlement had been reached between Chartwells and the <br /> Unfinished Business Mashpee Public Schools in the amount of$66,708.41. <br /> Motion made by Mr.Caswell, seconded by Mrs. Mills,to approve the above settlement <br /> to Chartwells as recommended by the School Attorney. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mr.Fluery thanked Mr.Tarlow for his involvement in the settlement of this case. <br /> Mrs.Cook mentioned the recent successful Food Fair at the high school where vendors <br /> offered the products free of charge. <br /> X.
