In the 2002-2003 high school <br /> budget, a request for a Civil Rights Teary Advisor was made, however, this <br /> item was not funded. <br /> In his memo, Mr. Brown recommended a stipend of$757 for the Civil Rights <br /> Team Advisor be transferred from the 1lashpee High School Instruction <br /> Budget. when Mrs. Mills questioned Mr. Tarlow regarding the need to transfer <br /> funds to cover the cost of funding this position, Mr. Tarlov responded that <br /> those funds would be part of the transfers to be voted upon at the October 23rd <br /> finance me ting. <br /> 8.9 Senior Culminating Project Proposal — Mr. Brown introduced High <br /> School teacher Carol Riley to discuss the Senior Culminating Project Proposal. <br /> In preparation of the New England Association ofSchools & Colleges <br /> (NEASQvisit in March 2003, it was found that Mashpee High School has no <br /> evaluative tool in place to demonstrate whether students have met the academic <br /> expectations for learning. NEASC requires a clear method of assessing the <br /> success of each student and presently, there is no method at the high school. <br /> Therefore, Mr. Brown proposed the creation of a committee to explore the <br /> implementation of a Senior Culminating Project to research available project <br /> guidelines and develop a curriculum that would best meet the reeds ofMashpee <br /> High School. <br /> After Mrs. Miley concluded her outline, the Committee endorsed the concept of <br /> the Senior Culminating Project Proposal. <br /> .1 "Curriculum Development Process" Policy revision—Guidance—As a <br /> first read-through, Mrs. St. Cyr addressed the need to incorporate a written <br /> guidance curriculum policy. She explained that this curriculum will serve as a <br /> guide for the Assistant Principal for Student Services and the guidance <br /> counselors at all levels. On the high school level,this curriculum is also part of <br /> the NEASC Accreditation process. <br /> The Committee will vote on this policy revision at their November regular <br /> meeting. <br /> VIII.
