r <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR AND FINANCE MEETING—AUGUST 4,, 2004 PATE <br /> r <br /> Mrs. Lopez gave kudos to Melissa Murphy for her efforts in devising a <br /> building facility usage fee schedule for outside groups and Leisure <br /> Services. <br /> Mrs. Cook suggested revisiting the"Joint Community Use Agreement" <br /> of August 26, 1996 with the Board ofSelectmen and Leisure Services. <br /> Selectmen liaison Don Myers agreed to meet with the School <br /> Committee and Leisure Services to discuss the"Joint Agreement." <br /> 9.2 Process for Hiring Superintendent -- As a follow-up to her <br /> question of last month,Mrs. Cook queried the Committee regarding the <br /> process they would like to use for hiring the Superintendent. <br /> 9.2.1 RFP for Search Consultant - After discussion of the <br /> above, Mgrs. Mills made a motion to hire a consulting firm t <br /> assist in the hiring of the Superintendent. Her motion was <br /> seconded by Mrs. Lopez. <br /> Mrs. Parol ski informed the Committee of a memo received <br /> from the Town Manager's office regarding the availability of <br /> $28,808 from the Barnstable County Commissioners and <br /> Assembly of Delegates. . The School Department responded <br /> with a request of$10,000 to aid in the Superintendent's search. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mrs. Cook asked Mrs. Ferguson to begin the Request for <br /> Proposal (RFP)process to commence immediately. <br /> 9.3 Update_ n Charter — lie: School Grounds — Mrs. Cook <br /> explained that included in the new Town Charter, Section - , the <br /> Department f Public Works would maintain all town building <br /> grounds. A meeting was held on July 12, 2004 with school officials <br /> and the Town Manager r where it was determined that for FY05, past <br /> practice of the school department maintaining its own grounds would <br /> prevail. For FY ,the School Department and DPW would review the <br /> needs of the departments. <br /> 9.4 Building Use Fees—This issue was incorporated into Section J <br /> f the newly-voted upon School Committee Policy Manual. <br /> Mrs. Mills asked if a luncheon would be provided to staff during the <br /> Professional Days in August or the Administrative Day slated for <br /> September 1. Mrs. Parolsl i said no, that attendees would 1 <br /> responsible for their own lunch, however coffee will be served in the <br /> morning. <br /> t <br />
