5. Finance and Budgeting <br /> The District and the Town agree and acknowledge that the following finance and budget <br /> terms shall apply during the term of this Memorandum of Memorandum: <br /> 1 Subject to Town Meeting appropriation, the Town shall be responsible for all <br /> salaries, benefits, and other costs and expenses related to the employment of <br /> BMG and Custodial Staff. Funds to meet these obligations will be appropriated <br /> within the Department of Public Works annual operating budget. <br /> 2 Subject to Town Meeting appropriation, the Town shall be responsible for all fuel <br /> and utility costs incurred for the operation of District buildings and shall be <br /> responsible for all costs incurred for the maintenance, repairs and service of all <br /> electrical, heating, ventilation, mechanical and air conditioning systems and <br /> equipment. Funds necessary to meet these obligations will be appropriated within <br /> the Department of Public Works annual budget. <br /> 3 The Public Works Director will prepare an annual budget which includes all <br /> proposed District buildings and grounds maintenance, repairs and improvements. <br /> The Superintendent of Schools shall be consulted during the budget preparation <br /> process to ensure input regarding the District buildings and grounds needs and <br /> priorities. <br /> 6. Fauipment and Vehicles <br /> Prior to implementation of the Consolidation, the Town and the District shall prepare an <br /> inventory of all equipment and vehicles for which custody and control is being <br /> transferred from the District to the Town for purposes of the Consolidation. The <br /> inventory shall describe the then-current condition of all such equipment and vehicles. <br /> The Town shall assume responsibility for the maintenance, fueling, repair and upkeep of <br /> all equipment and vehicles being transferred hereunder. The District shall remain <br /> responsible for the repayment of any outstanding indebtedness it incurred with respect to <br /> said equipment any vehicles. In the event that the Consolidation terminates or expires, all <br /> equipment and vehicles transferred from the District to the Town shall be returned to the <br /> District in the same condition as of the time of transfer, normal wear and tear excepted, <br /> whereupon the District sha11 re-assume responsibility for the maintenance, fueling, repair <br /> and upkeep of the equipment and vehicles being transferred. <br /> 7. Other Provisions <br /> The Town and the District agree that the following terms and conditions will govern their <br /> relationship: <br /> 1 All Town employees who may be required to work within or on District buildings <br /> or grounds must submit to a Criminal Offender Records Investigation (CORI) <br /> 7 <br />
