Mr, Goggin asked if <br /> there was anything else in Capital Requests r. Long answered <br /> that there was $15,000 for sprinkler costs and $15,000 for space <br /> planning at the Center, The Committee asked about the van for the <br /> department. Mr, Long responded that the partial payment for the <br /> van was approved last May and that the driver was funded but never <br /> hired because they did not have the gran. The Town is responsible <br /> for $9,000 toward the van cost and approximately $8,100 for the <br /> driver. Nor. Long also mentioned that by having town water <br /> available, the parking lot will have additional parking spaces. <br /> There may also be the possibility of receivinq some grant money for <br /> the Center from FCCD. Ms. King asked about $2 ,,100 for other <br /> purchases. Mar, Long mentioned that this money is used for <br /> different things for the Center and the residents who use it, for <br /> example sending a plant to residents who have birthdays and are age <br /> 90 and over.. <br /> Mr. Bacigalupo, came into the meeting at 7:20 to express his opinion <br /> about the Fire Department's budget. <br /> Mr. Goggin Motioned to approve the CCA budget with the exception of <br /> capital items. $16,,273 going to the Department"s Expense Account <br /> and $60,700,19 to the Salary Account-. Juan Bacigalupi seconded the <br /> Motion and members approved -0. <br /> Town Report <br /> Mr. Bacigalupi reported that it would cost approximately $850. to <br /> print 500 copies of the Report and over $1,000 to mail it. There <br /> are f4,7oo registered voters, Mr.. Bacigalupi suggested that the <br /> Committee consider placing a copy in the Penny aver which would be <br /> considerably less and there would be 500 copies left over for Town <br /> Meeting., The Committee agreed to table .this until their next <br /> meeting, Juan wave out copies of a fax he had received from the <br /> FennyS ver. <br /> Fire Department Budget <br /> Chief George Baker and Deputy Chief Sheldon Hamblin were present to <br /> discuss the budget. fir. Bacigalupi gave his recommendation prion <br /> to his leaving the meeting. Be asked that the Finan a Committee <br /> consider approving the budget. He also noted the good job Mr. <br /> Hamblin had done in preparing this budget, 1t was Mr. Bacigarlupi t s <br /> opinion that the budget did not contain any "fat" <br /> Ms. King noted that the budget was only $48,000., over last year's <br /> budget. Mr. Hamblin has prepared this budget according to the old <br /> contract because their new contract has not been ratified. Chief <br /> Baker also indicated that his new calculated salary is not in the <br />
