Diane Weismann, homeowner, stated the proposed project is to upgrade and enlarge an
existing two season porch into a four-season porch. She said three trees need to be
removed. One tree is rotting and the other two is at risk of falling onto the house. For
mitigation, they would plant native shrubs in the back of the property to replace the lost
wildlife habitat value of the trees removed.

The Agent noted the resource areas and where Red Brook runs in the back of the
property. All the proposed work is taking place within the 50 to 100 foot setback. He
noted the trees that are to be removed and recommended their removal. He suggested he
can work with the homeowner to come up with some sort of mitigation to do some buffer
planting next to the wetland.

No comment from the public

Motion: Mr. Smith moved a Negative Determination with the condition to work with
the Conservation Agent to establish a mitigation plan. He described the
work to construct and maintain detached garage, modify the existing septic system and
remove seven trees within the footprint of the septic and garage proposals. All activities
are to be taken place on the street side of the house. The alterations proposed to the
septic system includes removing a bull-run valve with a distribution box as recommended
by the Board of Health and replacing with a D box. The Board of Health recommended the
removal of a tree at the corner of the septic system. Also, some pine trees will be removed
to construct the garage.
