i <br /> Finance ommittee/February 22,2000 <br /> Upon questioning by the Finance Committee members,Ms. Shaw stated that she would <br /> provide a report,which would show the schedule spread out over several yea's. <br /> Benetsftsurance <br /> Ms. Shaw noted that Medical Insurance Rates have gone up. She commented that the Town <br /> pays 75%and the employee pays %. <br /> BUDGET REVIEW: WILLIAM HAUCK,-INSPECTIONS <br /> Mr. William Hauck,Building Inspector,was present to review the Fiscal Year 2041 Budget <br /> for the Inspections Department. Mr.lussell Wheeler,Assistant Building inspector,was also <br /> present. <br /> Mr.Hauck said that the Total Budget for the Building inspector is$206,868, He noted that <br /> last year the inspections Department brought in$506,,000 in pemit fees. <br /> Ir.Hauck reviewed his expense requests. He said Communication was always a little low <br /> and is up this year. They are looking for$500 more in the line item of Vehicular Supplies. <br /> Mr.Hauck added that Seminars is rip$300. <br /> I&.Arden noted that Paid-To-Date for Seni�xars is very small. Mr.Hauck explained that <br /> they are trying to get Russ certified as a Building Commissioner,so they have cut the fie` <br /> seminars down. <br /> Mrs. Goulart asked if the Full-Thne Salary Administrator difference of$3,597 is contractual. <br /> Mr.Hauck stated that it is contractual. <br /> Mr.Hauck stated that the only thing they are looking to do this year is make the Senior Cleric <br /> full-tune position perinanent. He noted that this is already included in the budget and what <br /> the Warrant will do is just make it a pemanent position He stated that last year,a portion of <br /> the position was paid by South Port. He stated that they need this position bemuse they are <br /> that busy. Mr.Hauck stated that right now they have an Administrative Assistant,Pat white, <br /> and one clerk. They would like to maintain that. The whole department would have two <br /> Building inspectors and two full-time in the office. They also have part-time electrical, <br /> plumbing,and gas inspectors. <br /> Ws.Goulart asked Mr.Hauck if Mr.whritenour recommended making the Senior Clerk a <br /> permanent position. Mr.Hauck stated that Mr.whritenour did recommend it. <br /> Mr.Anold questioned Mr.Hauck if his department has Impact Fees. lir. Hauck stag that <br /> they do not have Impact Fees in the town. He said that impact Fees would have to be voted in <br /> by the T'ow'n. <br /> Mr.Hauck pointed out that last year they raised their rates on permit Mees—they almost <br /> doubled the amount of the fees. <br /> Ivy.Arnold questioned Mr.Hauck ck ho v many vehicles he has in his department. lir.Hauck <br /> stated that he has one vehicle. There was discussion on the amount of gas used for the <br /> vehicle. Mr.Hauck stated that the Plumbing and Gass inspector uses his own vehicle. <br />
