Chris Avis/Chuck Gasior discussed the Police and <br /> Fire department request for extended benefits. Chuck noted that <br /> during the special meeting,, there was a Warrant Article, and <br /> members of the Police and Fire Department were present. At the <br /> meeting,the Finance Committee members asked for additional <br /> time to review the matter. Chuck Mated he thought it was the <br /> Finance Committee's responsibility to follow up. Chuck <br /> confirmed with Joyce that there was another imurance polio <br /> presently in place. Chuck noted that Bob, Ken and Bill were the <br /> liaisons. Bob Hutchinson made a statement that all will be done to <br /> be sure that there is sufficient coverage for the Police and Fire <br /> Department. Bob also stated that he did not feel there should be <br /> additional monies spent for something that may not be used, and <br /> has not appeared to have been needed. Bob also noted that there <br /> were no members from the Police Department present at the <br /> special meeting. Bill Johnson discussed the practical reality of <br /> using this benefit and the cost associated with the same, and also <br /> expressed concern over payment for a benefit that may not be used, <br /> Bob Hutchinson and Chuck Gasior discussed a need for additional <br /> information in order to re-visit the request. Terrie Cook agreed <br /> that everyone needs to know what is being requested(both the <br /> Police and Fire Department members, and the Finance Committee <br /> member to be sure that nobody is left at risk. Terrie suggested <br /> that everyone meet and follow up with this matter. Bob <br /> Hutchinson indicated that he supports them having a warrant, but <br /> slid not feel that it was in their better interest. Finance Committee <br /> needs further clarification of the current polio in place, and Chris <br /> Avis questioned whether the Police and Fire Departments had <br /> full understanding of the current policy. <br /> Joyce Mason will get a package out with details on the current <br /> policy for the members in advance of any meeting. <br /> Chris Avis discussed Finance Committee posting on the web. <br /> Chris asked ed members to think about some ideas to place on the <br /> web. one of the considerations was an email, or bldg site. Rene <br /> Read made a brief presentation and had printed materials for the <br /> Finance Committee with regard to research he had done on <br /> websites from other Towns. bene strongly suggested taking a look <br /> at the Arlington Finance Commi <br />
