2 <br /> Fire Station Building Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> October 1 9,, 1999 <br /> REPORT OF THE BOARD OF HEALTH AGENT: <br /> Pumping quotes received for the floor drains in the apparatus bays <br /> assuring a 7, 0 -gallon pump-out to the Mashpee high school or <br /> Barnstable Wastewater Treatment Plant WWT were considered. <br /> Mr. McQuaid recommended the Committee consider the quote obtained <br /> from Bousfield Company for transportation in the amount o $100 to the <br /> Mashpee high school. The 7,000-gallon pump-out is estimated on a yearly <br /> basis. The new tight tank will hold 10,000 gallons of gray water. <br /> To obtain DEP approval, it is necessary to file additional paperwork to <br /> authorize the discharge at the high school informed Mr. McQuaid who <br /> noted that Weston& Sampson has approved the initial proposal. <br /> The testing of Vg's is expected to cost $75 to $100 per sample. 1f <br /> required,the full range testing of metals would double the anticipated cost <br /> associated with discharge. <br /> Mix. McQuaid suggested the Committee Further explore the possibility of <br /> direct connection to the Mashpee Commons although the proposal <br /> received for pumping quotes has allowed the Committee to proceed. <br /> REPORT OF THE ARCHITECT: <br /> James May, Project Architect presented a revised bid and construction <br /> phase schedule to the Committee for consideration. It was noted that the <br /> structural engineers require an additional two weeks to complete their <br /> review, Therefore,the project is expected to be delayed by approximately <br /> two weeks. <br /> Due to the upcoming holiday season, and completion of the construction <br /> documentation,the Committee reluctantly agreed to accept Schedule 2, <br /> Chief Baker voiced his displeasure to the revised schedule and requested <br /> the Architect commit to the schedule to advance the project Forward. <br /> Motion made by Mr.Wezalak to accept Schedule 2 for the Bid Phase <br /> and Construction Phase of the Fire& Rescue Station pro,*ee <br /> Motion seconded by Dr. Petti. <br /> V0][EIN <br /> -1. Motion carries. <br /> Chief Baker in opposition. <br />
