t <br /> 2 <br /> 4 <br /> Fire Station Building Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 7, 2000 <br /> PROJECT OVERVIEW. <br /> Mr. Bertaux recommended that the general contractor agree to use the RS <br /> Means 2000 as a basis for quantifying and calculating labor. This would <br /> sage argumentation regarding the cost of the work. Mr. Bertaux agreed <br /> that change orders are a clear delay, and that the general contractor has <br /> submitted extreme and outrageous change order east proposals,, <br /> Mrs. Mason added that change orders are approved for work, and not for <br /> the purpose of any time extension. <br /> In response,Mr. Kornet ky indicated that he would work directly and <br /> closely with Standen representatives, Gerald Loranger and Ron-Merlo on <br /> change order proposals. Mr. K rnetsky stated that he feels his prices are <br /> in line, and that this has not been a problem in past practices. <br /> Mr. Korn tsky noted that the project is now approximately % complete. <br /> There have been 19 bulletins to date. A total of 253bulletins are <br /> projected before project completion. This is a time consuming rocess <br /> which causes delay time. Mr. Bertaux stated that this is unacceptable. <br /> Mr..K rnetsky agreed to use the RS Means 2000 as a basis for labor costs <br /> as recommended. <br /> In an effort to keep the project moving forward,the Committee has met <br /> timely to process change orders indicated Chief Balser who voiced ccern <br /> to the onset of winter and the location of the fire apparatus during this <br /> time. The Committee has been charged to meet the expectations of the <br /> Board of Selectmen to construct the project within the intended budget, <br /> hen'the project is all over the place, the Board of Selectmen will • <br /> question the credibility of all added Mr. Baker. <br /> Mrs. Mason indicated that The Wallace Floyd Design Group has been <br /> straightforward and has assisted the Committee to get to this point. Mr. <br /> . <br /> Kornetsky stated that it has been difficult negotiating with his <br /> subcontractors. Mr. Loranger agreed and stated that it is hurting him in <br /> the field With the job flow and progress. Mr. I ornetsky again stated that <br /> he is willing to assist with the-change order process.Re suggested that <br /> communication remain open and is a key to keep the project moving. <br />
