Several bags
of small stuffed animals had been donated to library, so in an effort to place the animals
in good homes, I held an `Adopt a Pet Story Tine"'. The offer of a free stuffed animal
i
drew a large crowd of 47 people. Dino, from Finally Iino's, donated and personally
delivered ten pizzas-. The owner of Polar Cave Ice Cream donated certificates for an ice
cream sundae. I presented all of the junior volunteers with a Certificate of Community
Service. A photographer from the Maspee Enterprise was on hand and we received
quite a nice spread in the newspaper. The total attendance was 17.
Our fall schedule kick--off event was held on September 1 It'- "Everyone's Favorite
Purple I inosaue' returned to the library fo'r his eighth annual visit. This event has
become very popular and the turnout this year was an astonishing 125 participants.
Rosemary Modic, oar Early Childhood Specialist from the Upper Cape Family Network,
resumed story time in September ith'attendance as-follows:
September 1 Toddle Time'l 30
Toddle Time II 20
September' 250' 'Toddle Time I 43
Toddle Time II 1
September Babies on Board Books -.
September 14th Babies on Board Books o
September 21 st Babies on Board Books 2
Se temer `
p Babies on Board Books 2
_
To help-increase awareness of the Baby story time at the library, Rosemary and I
prepared a mailing campaign to the families in Mashpee who have had a baby in the past
months_ We sent out a flyer advertising the Baty story time and a coupon for a free
gift. The free gift is a book lag, bookmark, and baby book from the Friends, and
another book from the Upper Cape Family Network.
On September 3"'I visited 5 out of the' 7 first grade classrooms at the I .C.
