At this point, Mr. Burton introduced Mike Bailey, of the <br /> Falmouth Enterprise, and thanked him for his support of Library <br /> and Town endeavors . <br /> Helene DeFoe-Library Director since 1989 . Ms . DeFoe <br /> informed the Committee that the Library building had been <br /> insufficient in size from the outset due to the economics of the <br /> Town at the time. She pointed out some of the areas of concern <br /> such as research, computer use, meeting the needs of the <br /> children, as well as the senior citizens . <br /> Ernie Cole-Mr. Burton invited him to speak even though he <br /> had not been formally appointed to the Committee at this point. <br /> Mr. Cole stated he has laved on Cape Cod for 32-years, in Mashpee <br /> since 1995 . Mr. Cole is retired from the Community College and <br /> Cornell in New York state. He expressed his lifelong devotion to <br /> reading and library facilities. He also stated his wife is a <br /> retired high school Librarian, and Reference Librarian from <br /> Sturgis Library in Barnstable. <br /> George Costa-Former Mashpee Selectman, Police Officer, and <br /> Board of Health representative. He offered his expertise in the <br /> area of guiding the Committee through the regulatory process . <br /> Mr. Costa stated his prior experience/involvement with the Town <br /> Hall renovations and construction of the High School . Mr. Costa <br /> stated he has been well aware of the expansion needs of the <br /> Library and fully supports these efforts . <br /> Anne Aristide-An East Falmouth resident since 1973 and a <br /> Friend of the Library system while raising her children. while <br /> employed at the Green Company, Ms. Aristide stated her experience <br /> in working with developers, as well as her familiarity with the <br /> bidding process . She is currently employed with the Mashpee <br /> Building Department and is a frequent customer of Mashpee <br /> Commons . She contributes her previous experience in the work <br /> field to this Committee. <br /> Gary Eynation-A lifelong summer resident of Mashpee and <br /> year round resident for the past 10-years, currently serving a <br /> second term as Library Trustee with a desire to serve on the <br /> Library Expansion Committee. <br /> Mr. Burton then introduced the Board Secretary to Committee <br /> Members . He also mentioned Committee Members, Grace Talmage and <br /> Angie Cincotta. <br /> Mr. Burton mentioned the Committee currently consists of <br /> eight (8) Members and that it is possible to expand that number <br /> to as many as thirteen (13) . <br /> Expansion Overview <br /> Mr. Burton recognized the concern of overcrowding within the <br /> -2- <br />
