We need a Reference Librarian to staff the new Reference Department on the <br /> • `i second floor. This is a librarian with spe i rl ed training in information sources, <br /> urcesr - <br /> rho will assist patrons using the library databases and the adult collection. <br /> Volunteers shelvingr <br /> returns will heli monitor who is on the second floor and that <br /> the area is being used properly. In cases of problems, the <br /> volunteers will alert <br /> the Referen.ce Librarian and he/she.will actua-Ify deal with the problem. <br /> The Teen Room is located adjacent to the Reference area. Students. will nee <br /> assistance using the library's resources. The Reference librarian will also <br /> supervise the Young Adult-Room to see that the teen users are being respectful <br /> of other patrons need for quiet space. In addition, the Reference Librarian will be <br /> assisting adult patrons in , how to use the library's Internet stations and will <br /> troubleshoot minor hardware problems and will monitor the quiet study areas <br /> available for tutoring. <br /> In Fiscal 200 8, 1 'rnclud d a d Three Year Outlook as part of my budget <br /> submission. Based on a <br /> completion date of January FY 2010, we are phasing in the positions for half the <br /> fiscal year.
