The PCC agreed that the room-naming doors' contributions <br /> should be used for the enhancement of library services, and not furnishings. <br /> Naming areas have been limited to 12 designated locations in the library where small <br /> memorial plaques will be placed. At the PCC meeting, a motion was made by Sheldon <br /> Gilbert, and unanimously approved, that the PCC approve a limited number (12) of small <br /> room-naming plaques; that the plaques themselves are to be under the jurisdiction of the <br /> PCC as to size, manufacture and wording, recognizing that "in memory of is a legitimate <br /> subject; and that a larger plaque be placed at the entrance to the library recognizing all <br /> other major donors. In addition, it should be made clear to donors of the Friends <br /> endowment fund that the monies are to be used toward the enhancement of library <br /> services, and not furnishings. <br /> 5. Website Update on Library Construction. Helene DeFoe stated that she will take the <br /> responsibility to keep the library website up to date on progress of the new library <br /> construction project. <br /> 6. MA. Library Trustees Association/MA Friends of Libraries Annual Joint <br /> Conference in Marlboro, MA. — 11/01/08 <br /> Jane Dolan reported on the symposium she attended, and distributed informational <br /> material from the session. Jane stated that she found the symposium to be very <br /> worthwhile. A summary of the Library Trustees' role in the community, prepared by Jane, <br /> and titled "Public Relations for the Library" is attached (See Attachment F). <br /> 7. Post Office Relocation <br /> Helene DeFoe stated that Mashpee Commons is building the new Post Office and leasing <br /> it to the Post Office. The new Post Office will be located next to the library on Steeple <br /> Street. The library has agreed to share the use of an electrical transformer with the Post <br /> Office, and will split the construction costs with Mashpee Commons. The Post Office was <br /> going to take care of the curb cut for the sidewalk on the other side of the street. Early on, <br /> there were many conversations about making sure the grades tied in correctly. <br /> NEXT MEETING._ <br /> The next meeting of the Board of Library Trustees was set for Tuesday, January 13, 2009, <br /> at 6:30 PM, at Town Hall in Conference Room 2.
