Mashijee Public Schools TV Studio continued <br /> Following items were among the issues/comments discussed in repriev ing the submitted proposal: <br /> 0 The 2 new cameras will add to the fleet of cameras school now has. These new cameras will enable there to <br /> reduce the bottom line. <br /> Peter Cohen asked what the benefit is to the population. Arthur Joia responded; time to broadcast plus <br /> we'r'e sending students off with knowledge of this SID technology which is a plus. <br /> It is a good time to make the change to I4D technology now. <br /> • Cameras have capability to record both size recordings. <br /> • Peter asked: How does it enhance student's capabilities? Arthur responded that right now student i's very <br /> involved in all aspects of production. This will add ISD workflow format and there are lot of differences so <br /> when they go on they can tale all that information and learn how to work with it. <br /> • Arthur has 11 students in the program—both boys and girls. <br /> Andrew E1lason suggested they consider adding 1,000 to the proposal with the provision the added <br /> funding be used for spare batteries for the cameras. The Board agreed with this suggestion. <br /> • The Board suggested Arthur Joia should submit 3 price quotes...be said will do that and he will get a price <br /> quote from Valley Communications. <br /> Motion: James Chisholm motioned that the Board recommend to the Board of Selectmen the sure of$28,190 <br /> per the presentation made by Arthur Jolla,Media Arts Director,Mashpee Public Schools,be accepted <br /> pending 2 other price quotes to be submitted by Mr.Joia;Peter Cohen seconded this motion;and it was <br /> unaniFmously approved. <br /> Arthur Joia exited the meeting. <br /> f <br /> Public Access Studio--CommunLq Outreach <br /> Peter Cohen reported he wants to try and coordinate with Arthur Joia to see whether the students could work with <br /> Jeff Clough. Peter said between Arthur Joia(schools),Gus Fredericks(Leisure Services), Senior Center(Jinn <br /> Lang), and the Library we would Dave 4 prongs of attack. J rxres Chisholm suggested that even if a training session <br /> were offered that might work. He said one program could be just to teach how to use a simple camera. Lolita <br /> l cCray commented that once a know what Comcast is doing,theawe'd know how to proceed. <br /> TV Control Room <br /> Andrew Eliason mentioned to David DeIVecchio that several of the microphones are malfunctioning. David said <br /> "fires"3 have to be repaired but that he'already has new replacements at his desk because 12 were ordered for the <br /> new library that are not needed so he's going to use 3 of them. <br /> Next Meetin ...2 p.m. Tuesday, July 13,2010, Town Hall Meeting Room 1. <br /> Budget..J mes Chisholm provided the Board with a budget update. <br /> Ad-iournm ..Peter Cohen motioned the meeting be adjourned;this motion was seconded by Lolita McCray; <br /> and was unanimously approved.
