will be addressed by whatever is needed (road widening,
additional traffic lights, etc. ) .
Tom Sullivan, 19 Carlton Drive: Inquired what the
Developer' s intentions would be if the proposed change in zoning
is not approved by Town meeting.
Mr. Chase responded the land is currently zoned Commercial,
-1 . The plan would allow for forty thousand (40, 000 ft. )
foot commercial lots. He made reference to Route 28, west
Yarmouth zoning.
Beverly Kane, Compass Drive: Inquired as to a water Supply
Agreement with the Mashpee water District . chat assurances does
the Developer have to guarantee a supply of water for this
project, given the fact that people are being turned down t
connect to Town water due to a lack of water supply.
i
mr. Storrs: This is a twenty 2 year raster plan. He
'. stated his confidence in the 1ashpee water District/Manager to
handle the future growth within the Town of 1ashpee.
Russell Peters, Jr. : Asked for assurances of clean water
for this development.
.
Mr. Chace stated the development would not go forward
without clean water~.
John Ferguson: Introduced himself as having served as a
Member of the original Committee. He addressed his comment to
concerns raised by residents of Deer Crossing by stating that
under current zoning, a Wal-Mart could be built on this site.
He further stated the Committee agreed this proposal (mixed
zoning) to be a better use of this development .
Mark Katsulas, Deer Crossing: Inquired as to the meaning of
"New whiting Road. " He asked the Developer if there would be
trees planted between his property and the Mashpee Commons
residential. area.
Mr. Chace responded New whiting Road is an historic name.
There is fifty 0 feet between the line indicating Mr.
atsulast property and where Mashpee commons development would
begin.
Mr. Katsulas stated his plan to oppose the proposed change
in density at Town Meeting.
Selectman Dinizio stated Town Representatives are seeking
public support of this project. The question being, how much of
a good thing is too much (200-400) . Negotiations are ongoing.
Perhaps a mixed use development that is less dense is the answer.
The purpose of this Hearing is to obtain feedback from the
public. - -
i
