If the change i
approved in May, required processing will begin.
Mr. Hastings asked if the Cape Cod Commission is actively
involved in the proposed development and their~ reaction thereto.
Mr. Chase answered, "Yes. " "We have met with the staff. "
He stated the Cape Cod Conunission is looking for alternative
types of development on the Cape. They are very interested in
this project, as well as concerned about the environmental
impacts .
Selectman Dinizio, stressed the importance of the zoning
change at Town Meeting. The zoning change, based upon public
input, will frame what is allowable in the future. He also
stated that the Cape Cod Commission is fully aware of this
project, as is Massachusetts EPA and the Mashpee Planning
Department. Therefore, the Selectmen
have appointed the Committee to negotiate with Mr. Chace. The
Selectmen welcome public input, which is the purpose of this
Dearing.
i Douglas Storrs stated the request being rade is to alter
current zoning to allow for a minimum of forty (40, 000 sq. ft . )
thousand square foot lots up to any number of acreage size lots
to handle any form of commercial development .
