Dr. Arthur Hastings. Introduced himself and his wife as
residents of Deer Crossing. "We would like to go on Record to
the Advisory Committee, that the Board Members of Deer Crossing
have decided among themselves to meet exclusively with Mr. Chace,
or his representative, to discus possible negotiations. Mr.
Chace, at the Meeting, offered to meet with the residents . They
have not taken a surrey of the concerned residents of Deer
'grossing about our feelings relative to the expansion; and this
action on their part is not founded in the express powers of the
Board of Deer Crossing. This unilateral action will doubtless
result in a newsletter to the residents, departing to us the
results of their discussions with Mr. Chad, or his
representatives. They are not acting on behalf of the residents,
nor does their decision refect residents' concerns of the
buyers. "
Selectman Dinizio determined this to be an internal issue
between Deer Crossing residents and the AS OCi tion. He
reiterated that he would be happy to attend any meeting, as he
had the previous Thursday.
Ann Hastings: "Okay. There ' s a. . . and I have expressed
this at the Meeting n the other~ day, the meeting that you were at,
I have expressed this to the Board. I think it is much more
complicated than just the Board within Deer Crossing,
which. . .whose responsibility it is the. . . as. . . as written down in
our rules and regulations. Their authority ends with the current
common areas . Their role and responsibilities are to run the
Deer Crossing and decisions regarding the common areas, as well
as the facilities n the common areas . I am a taxpayer, I own
property in Mashpee, I ani. . .we are the neighbors that Mr. Chace
will be. . .has. . .has spoken about . We are the neighbors. Not
Deer Crossing Condominiums, but those units. . .my unit, I can only
speak for our unit, that unit that is a neighboring unit to where
the development is going to be. So, we question the authority
that the Board has in this matter. And we are here because we
are taxpayers, as well as neighbors to this project. "
Selectman Dinizio explained the Committee was designed to be
open to public input, which includes everybody who is a resident
of the Town of Mashpee. The duty of the Selectmen is to
represent everybody in Town. He again Stated his willingness to
attend any meeting with the residents of Deer Crossing.
Ann Hastings: "And again, m point, I think is that rather
than the Board being representative of Deer Crossing, I think
individual unit owners need to be dealt with. lather than the
Board being the representative group and a decision-making group
representing Deer Crossing. I happen to. . . I 'm a taxpayer, my
property just happens to be within a condominium complex. I do
not fall under some governing Board. I . . .we have an investment
we have property in Deer Crossing and so why should we be under
some Board. #:
