Mr. Eliason asked about how much money such an upgrade would, <br /> cost ' u.s . Mr. Fensternaker informed the committee that the <br /> total package, which would be fully functional, and one. that <br /> would include the cameras would run about $26, 783 . 00 . e <br /> further stated that 'he felt that this would be a good time <br /> to make this presentation as the Mashpee cable Advisory <br /> Committee had just signed a new contract and the money was <br /> going to be available . <br /> Town Administrator, Joyce Mason, reminded the committee that <br /> this money was not going to all be available iTmnediately and <br /> al.l at once, one check has just cone in for a little over <br /> $15, 000 . <br /> Mr. Eliason asked Bob Fensternaker if the committee did <br /> agree to go along with -Mediaone on this upgrade, would they <br /> be willing to allow us to allocate the funds over a three- <br /> year period. Mr. Fensternaker responded that this is <br /> something that he would need to discuss with Mediaone . He <br /> further stated that for around $15 , 000 we would be able to <br /> get started with the SVHs deck to give us the capabilities <br /> of digital processing. <br /> Joe Dellagal a stated that he would -very much like to see a <br /> live demonstration showing the differences in quality that <br /> digital cameras make . Mr. Fensternaker responded that he <br /> would work towards trying to set something of this nature <br /> up. <br /> Mrs . McCray expressed concerns with spending so much money <br /> when most of our camera operators are amateurs and most of <br /> our productions are not very professionally done . She would <br /> rather see our money spent in the area of providing <br /> technical classes . <br /> Mr. Fliason agreed that, yes, the issue of training the <br /> video operator how to better use- the equipment does need to <br /> be addressed, but he felt that these were two separate <br /> issues . We still want to be able to offer the hest <br /> technology to the Mashpee conmunity. <br /> Mr. Eliason and the rest of the committee decided to take <br /> this issue under advisement and thanked hien for his very <br /> informative presentation. <br /> i <br /> .
