She stat-ed stat-ethere appears to <br /> be a certain lev l of mistrust on the part of the citizenry f <br /> theTown for this reason. <br /> Mr. Chace noted that Mr. Kane was makitg reference to <br /> material distributed at� the time the major zoning change was <br /> being proposed. <br /> Ms. Kane made the point that it -was nearer clearly <br /> articulated to the public that there was any deviation from the <br /> original concept, nor was the matter of th6 informational <br /> meetings ever addressed. <br /> Mr. Chace noted the original course was altered by the <br /> actions of this Committee. He clarified the community <br /> informational meetings were suggested as a method of addressing <br /> a proposed- new zoning bylaw. <br /> .y x <br /> electman Marsters agreed withs. Kane � suggesting <br /> perhaps' a directive/mission statement would be helpful for <br /> clarification purposes. <br /> Mr. whritenour suggested MCLP follow through and conduct <br /> inforrational public hearings in o der to gain public support. <br /> Mr. Chace made reference to the Local Comprehensive Plan, <br /> noting the location of Mashpee Commons has been identified as' a <br /> Growth Center- -a location where development is encouraged. <br /> (There was some discussion regarding how to best addrss and <br /> x educate the public in this natter. ) <br /> Mr. Chace suggested refining the following statement made b <br /> John uchi 'sli, u -ing it as a goa-1., and developing a strategy in <br /> order to achi-ere ' such: "And it is also going to be better at the <br /> Planning Board Hearings for the zoning change to see this is the <br /> bylaw, this is 'what is going tp happen because of the bylaw and <br /> it is there in front of them and route loo} d at the impacts, <br /> because it is proportionately Maghpee Commons driven. " F <br /> Selectman Marsters asked MCLP to take notice of the concerns <br /> being presented such as efivironmental atd planning. He also <br /> agreed with a statement made by Ms. Kane earlier in the Meeting <br /> when she stated the public does not watt a piecemeal approach, <br /> but would prefer to understand the whole package,. <br />
