A copy of the <br /> Energy Update is attached to the printed set of these minutes. In discussing the Solar systems on Town <br /> Hall and the Senior Center,Catherine said that the breakdown of the 80 kW is Senior Center= 15 law; <br /> Town lull=65 kW. <br /> Mr. D.J.Ellis asked Catherine who came up with the 4,000 KWh to be generated by thd.2 Windspires` <br /> Catherine responded that the manufacturer doing the testing provides this estate, <br /> [ether Business <br /> South Cape Beach...Steve Cook advised the Committee that he was asked to design a small building at <br /> South Cape Beach and that J'oe gait's group is going to work on the building which the lifeguards will <br /> use to store their equipment and have a place to stand out of the sun. <br /> Gene Smar on asked whether there was any proposal for a sanitary facility at South Cape Beach. <br /> Catherine responded that the beach louse and other capital projects have been deferred until the economy <br /> changes. <br /> Planning and Construction Committee <br /> Steve Cook announced that D. J.Ellis would like to join the Committee and the Board of Selectmen <br /> asked the Committee to talk with Mr. Ellis. The Committee members introduced themselves and <br /> mentioned their background experience to Mr.Ellis. Mr.Ellis explained that he deals with electrical <br /> design and estimates around the country. He said about 15 years ago he was approached to see what it <br /> cost to install windmills on Nantucket et Sound. He said it died out, He said at that time the windmills <br /> carne from Germany. He said there is a lot to it and very heavy in maintenance. He heard there is a lot of <br /> trouble with the gear boxes. Not getting the ROI as originally thought. He said these people are selling <br /> something and their annual projection for ROI usually falls short, <br /> Shelly Gilbert pointed out that we shouldn't be charmed by the manufacturer's projection,but, instead,do <br /> our own analysis to determine ghat more likely would be-the result.
