Committee Members were in agreement that <br /> figures used for population should, be consistent and defensible. <br /> David Leve i l l e agreed to discuss this matterfurther with both <br /> the Town Planner and Town Clerk. <br /> veronica Mayer stated she has spoken with Phil Goddard, <br /> M. . I . . Coordinator for the southeast legion. He was able to <br /> provide information needed. to complete the Recycling Data sheet. <br /> References were then made t ' page 3, General Recyclables, <br /> minced paper/cardboard. <br /> The Chairman reported on compactor information, stating he <br /> has been trying to get in touch with AAA Recycling and Martins, <br /> to no avail . A vendor from New Bedford i s currently paying <br /> $50 . 00 per ton for cardboard. A compactor averages from six to <br /> seven tons. <br /> Veronica Mayer reported the Town of sandwich is no longer <br /> interested in dealing with Mashpee paper. The landfill <br /> contractor hopes to acquire a hauling truck in which case he <br /> would be able to pick-up from dupsters and containers and <br /> deliver to A.W. Martin by the first' of the year. However, <br /> hauling costs are involved. The Town is currently paying U&L <br /> $150 . 00 per haul for plastics; and. $200 . 00 per haul for glass. <br /> Veronica Mayer noted it would be so h more- efficient to <br /> have pick--ups scheduled on a regular basis. She made reference <br /> to household hazardous materials currently being recycled such as <br /> oil filters, anti-f `ee e, and NiCad batteries . Also included on <br /> the data sheet, Residential Collections Hazardous Household <br /> Products and manifest numbers dating back to last October. <br /> The Chairman determined there were no further questions <br /> regarding the Data Sheet, confirmation pending a population <br /> figure and tin can/steel figure. <br /> The Chairman made Committee Members aware of an upcoming <br /> Ethics Seminar scheduled for Tuesday, September 21, 1999, 76- 00 <br /> p. . at Mashpee Town Hall . <br /> Veronica Mager provided contact information for Phil I <br /> Goddard, Coord.int or, Bourne at 508-759-0658 . <br /> M. . I . P. Grant Application <br /> Veronica Mayer stated that signage application for recycling <br /> has been added to the Application form. She also stated her <br /> opinion that adequate signage has been provided. <br /> Town of Mashpee Comprehensive Plan <br /> Solid and Hazardous waste <br /> -2- <br />
