t
r
There was some discussion as to the reasons for accepting
anti.-freeze, as it is considered to be a serious hazardous waste
material . Veronica Mayer stated this is being done at the
request of the County. There was also discussion regarding
contamination of the recycled oil drum, which has been pumped
out, and is now contained in a smaller drum. The 275-gallon
drum is to be used strictly for used oil, to be disposed of only
y the contractor.
New Business
James Chisholm provided information ion condominiums, multi-
dwellings .
ultidwellings . He presented a craft letter to all condominiums and
multi-dwellings in Town, which would be accompanied by a
recycling questionnaire. This inquiry would provide information
on the number of dwellings offering any form of recycling; and
the needs for those who do not.
Janes Chisholm requested Committee input with regard to the
questionnaire, and suggested the draft letter be approved by
legal counsel . He also offered a fora of stationery for
Committee approval .
James Chisholm suggested the questionnaire be directed to
the Association Managers and Trustees as a means to obtain the
des ired.. need information of each complex.
There was discussion regarding the Quashnet Valley recycling
program. There was also discussion regarding the purchase of
toters and the possibility of sharing costs.
Veronica Mayer suggested including a copy of the Regulation
adopted by the Board of Health along with the mailing.
David Leve l l e suggested the Conunittee compile a list of
contact persons for each complex to be divided among Committee
Members for contact -and interview as a means of obtaining the
desired information.
David Leveille asked for further definition of multi-unit
dwellings at it would relate to Lakeside Trailer Park and Otis
Trailer village.
veronica Mager stated this determination had been made by
DEP; James Chisholm suggested any complex being controlled by an
Association.
There was some discussion regarding- the determination of
residential trash. veronica Mayer noted that USA waste has
determined their dumpsters located at condominium sites are
considered to be "residential" whereas BFI dumpsters are being
considered as "commercial" .
