f
r Page Eleven
Mrs. Dunivan, "I don' t know. I 'm afraid I
this, don' t know .
That there rust be an account for theommunit
y School.
*
Dr. e oura, "'the state dives you the responsibility of community
mmun.ty
implications, if I can use that tern, the School Committee. it
Mrs. Caffyn, ' And the school has given it over to thea because
they voted to give it. 1#
Dr, Del oura, "The Town took a vote and voted toitY
o the by
haws and, as
I recall, this whole thing started because there was
discussion of expanding the horizons of that agreement. And that
is really what precipitated most of this discussion. "
Mr. Roberts, 'Let me rake a comment, You know, I think we ' ll
agree that everybody' s to serve the community and I didn' t come
in here to listen to all of this infighting and all of that
because I don' t do it very well, l do know that 0 of companies
. and municipalities their problems stern from communications .
r About it is miscommunication and what we have -here is
another miscommunication. I don' t think the miscommunication i
necessarily from the Leisure services to you because as I
understand it, we donut have any mandate to get our programs
approved. a (Gus) has a mandate to bring them.to s to be
4
ip approved. That' s the first thing, as I understand itd Maybe Ivm
wrong, I don't know. And I don' t really care who spent $559
because .it' s all the community v s money and if it went to ag o
cause that' s fine with me. From the eery first beginning, if we
go back. and we check the notes, I think a number of us have
concern and the concern is what is Leisure services supposed to
be I keep hearing this thine about Community School. I have no
clue what it is, I don' t know wham it does and I don' t know why
it keeps getting called on and talked about. I don' t necessarily
agree that we should keep it, I don' t care who has it. l really
don' t care* It doesn' t make any difference to me. And I don' t
care if this committee is in charge of it. Human services which
there isos retiing afoot to make us handle human services or
not . It doesn' t make any difference. what we need is a clear
mandate as to what we're working on.' If we're just going to work
f on Parks and Recreation cani t r
g his man bus directive
and he can work on Parks and Recreation period. And I could
care less because it' s not turf to me. I 've got a different
business. It' s no skin off anybody' s vases as far- as I 'm
concerned. What I 'm saying is that whoever puts these by laws
together and says ' this is what you' ll do, ' ought to rake it real
clear as to what we' re doing. As far as I understand it this
committee is in charge of Community School as i
t used to be
defined. If we ' re not, somebody just say that. That ' s all
really care about and I think the committee only cares about
a
t
