ASHPEE SCHOOL COMMIT - REGULAR MEETING - MARCH 5, 1997 PAGE 2 <br /> Mr. Paxton anr'ounced that a legal opinion will be sought as a result of <br /> the executive session discussion regarding the complaint against an <br /> employee. <br /> Mrs. Phyllis S r ut discussed the summer reading program' and asked <br /> Public that an evaluation be done. Dr. I eMoura will contact Director of <br /> Forum Instruction.Patricia Parolski for input, <br /> Mrs. Sprout outlined an incident regarding serving on the School <br /> Council. She said she had been overlooked as a Participant due to a <br /> racial imbalance on the Council that existed. She asked the School <br /> Committee to be "up front" with future School Council requirements. <br /> Mrs. Sprout asked if the School Committee was planning to discuss the <br /> School-to-Work concept. <br /> Mrs. Sprout asked, `Are vire teaching corporations in the classroom" and <br /> "How much corporate influence is there in the classroom?" She said <br /> Falmouth is using "Newsweek" maga ine in their classes. <br /> Lastly, Mrs. Sprout discussed a document by Diana M. Fessler entitled <br /> "A Report on the work Toward National Standards, Assessments and <br /> Certificates." She asked that a copy be forwarded to the Public Library. <br /> IST., ` Mr. Paxton had no acknowledgments this evening. <br /> Acowledgments <br /> v. 5.1 School Committee <br /> Communi- <br /> cations boos .1.1 MTA - Included in the packet was correspondence from the <br /> Teachers'Association and Dr. I el Moura regarding i-- r ekl r paychecks. <br /> Mr. Paxton-said the lei- re kl r paychecks that are currently distributed to <br /> all school employees. He said during negotiation discussions, this <br /> concept was presented in such a way that it was understood that all <br /> Town employees would be paid on a bi-weekly basis. This, currently i <br /> not being clone. Mr. Paxton asked to meet with the 'Teachers'Association <br /> for further discussion on this issue, <br /> Also, Mr. Paxton mentioned a memo regarding usage of the copy room <br /> service. Dr. DeMoura briefly discussed a memo received from the <br />
