Mrs. Mills <br /> suggested placing, perhaps, four computers in each classroom. <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked for a list of priorities from the technology committee. <br /> Mr. Bailey responded with increasing the staff and thea obtaining a level <br /> of services u to take advantage of the hardware. <br /> Mr. Bailey suggested a creative assessment could be made to possibly <br /> avoid hiring a new person. <br /> Discussion also took place on all teachers becoming computer-literate at <br /> some point in time. <br /> Mr. Augenblick mentioned that technology is upgraded every two to three <br /> years thus the computers will need to be also. <br /> Because the Athletic Director Michael Horne was in the audience to give <br /> his report, Mrs. Lynch asked to move his presentation up. <br /> High School Sports Program <br /> Athletic Director Michael Horne addressed the Committee on the FY99 <br /> high school sports budget draft. The projected budget totals $232,026 <br /> Which includes the addition of varsity sports to the high school sports <br /> programs.. Also, neer uniforms and increased transportation costs will be <br /> required as all varsity teams will be playing teams off-Cape next year <br /> because Ma tepee belongs to the Pilgrim conference. Mr. Horne felt <br /> 1lashpee should have enough players for varsity football next year since <br /> them are currently about 33 players on the junior varsity team . <br /> Discussion followed on hiring a certified EMT to be present at all home <br /> football games. Approximately $2,880 has been budgeted for this <br /> person. Mrs. Mills asked if a doctor who fires locally may want to <br /> volunteer his/her time for this purpose. <br /> Discussion of charging admission fes at home games to offset some of <br /> the costs. Admission fees are not charged at junior varsity games. <br /> Mr. Home discussed the various sports offerings at the high school and <br /> felt that if there are too many types "it diminishes the talent.pool and all <br /> the teams get crushed." For those students who do not rake the varsity <br /> teams, Mr. Horne suggested the possibility of an intramural program or <br />
