Specifically 8.1 School Calendars - Included in the packet were the school <br /> Assigned/ calendars for the following: <br /> Unfinished <br /> Business 8.1.1 1998-1999 - After Mr. 'Tippo noted a possible revision <br /> in date spans between progress Reports distribution and the <br /> issuance of report cards, a motion was made by Mrs. cook, <br /> seconded by Mrs. Mills, to approve the 1998-1999 school <br /> calendar not including those to be revised dates. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.1.2 ,1!999-2000 (Proposed) - Because the first day of school <br /> is tentatively scheduled for September 8th, it was mentioned <br /> that perhaps the teachers would be amenable to moving up.- <br /> that <br /> p*-that start date earlier. <br /> .2 Music Curriculum} K-12 - Completed Document - Dr, <br /> DeMoura introduced Director of Instruction Patricia Parols i who <br /> i advised the Committee their recommended changes/deletions o <br /> last month have been incorporated in the new document. <br /> Mrs. Lynch suggested not approving this document this month and <br /> asked to wait until the budget has been approved for doing s . <br /> Discussion followed and Dr. DeMoura they ashes! the Committee to <br /> approve as a curriculum document, <br /> !!!lotion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Mills, to approve the <br /> K-12 Music curriculum. <br /> TE: In favor-- Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Mills, and Mr. Paxton; opposed - <br /> Mrs. Lynch and 1s. !Macdonald. Motion passes. <br /> 1r. New Business 9.1 _Grade 1 Entrance 1 Awe - Dr. DeMoura explained the school <br /> Committee policy entitled, "Entrance Age" (Policy File JED). <br /> Discussion followed regarding changing this policy. It was decided <br /> that the principals would discuss possibly changing it and will <br /> make any recommendations to the. Committee later. <br /> 9.2 Establishing a New class - Mrs. Lynch had asked to have <br /> this placed on tonight's agenda. She said grades 2 and 6 have <br /> larger class sues with fever teachers than sloes grade 1 with more <br /> teachers. She asked, "How do we establish a new class With <br /> having three different schools and only needing to add one class. <br /> To change class size, how do we Ileal with this " Dr. DeMoura <br />
