M _ r MASH EE SCHOOL COMMITTEE '- JOINT MEETING WITH BOARD of SELECTMEN AND LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL -- MARCH 3 , 1998 - PAGE 3 Leisure Services Advisory Council - Leisure Services Director Gus Frederick, Chairman of Leisure Services Advisory Council Sheila Arnold, Patricia Antonelfis. Selectmen Chairman George Costa asked for the purpose of this joint meeting. Mrs. Arnold explained some of the problems regarding scheduling of the school buildings. As a result, there have been a reduction in the programs offered by Leisure Services as well as a reduction in the number of classrooms being used. She said the buildings are being opened up on time. School Committee Liaison to the Leisure Services Advisory Council Mrs. Cook said Leisure Services has spent more time on scheduling for the programs but not providing better results. She asked to revisit the Joint Agreement dravm up between the Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Leisure Services several years ago to discuss scheduling. She also suggested returning to the Community School concept. Mr. Costa thought these issues are surfacing too late and he, personally, is not willing to change the Joint Agreement statim, "I'm disappointed."ointed. e then directed Mr. whritenour to work with the School Committee and the Leisure Services Advisory Council to resolve any outstanding issues. Mrs. Cook mentioned to the Selectmen they had agreed to revisit the community use,,agreement on a periodic basis. Stating that the groups have spent much time on scheduling, Mrs. Cook suggested the Selectmen review the minutes of the Leisure Services Advisory Council on a regular basis.
