i <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING - APRIL 1■ 1998 PAGE 2 <br /> Center for women, Inc. for paper teddy hears made by the <br /> students. <br /> .2 M.A.S.S. - George "Red"" Hill Scholarship - As this gear's <br /> president of the Massachusetts Association of School <br /> Superintendents, Dr. DeMoura explained that each year M.A.S.S. <br /> presents a scholarship to the student in leis/her school syteran <br /> that deserves such an honor. This scholarship is named for its <br /> former executive director, George "Fed' Dill and is awarded to a <br /> student who personifies Mr. mill's spirit, intelligence, loveo flife, <br /> and unselfish devotion to friends and colleagues. This gear's <br /> recipient was Breda McKay, a Mashpee senior atttending Falmouth <br /> High School. Ms. McKay received a $500 scholarship. <br /> w <br /> ,3 Cape Cod Disabilities Access - Jean McLaughlin - On behalf <br /> of the cape Cod Disability Access Program, dean McLaughlin <br /> presented a check in the amount of$ 52.43 to the Town o <br /> Mashpee. These monies may be spent any war the town sees fit to <br /> improve its disabilities projects, i.e.-, ramps, signage. <br /> 4.4 Thank You Card from Gail Anderson - After serving the <br /> children of Mashpee for mar years as ars adjustment counselor-, <br /> Gail Anderson retired, Recently, she was given the Golden Apple <br /> in honor of her dedicated employment with the Mashpee Public <br /> Schools. A thank you card was seat to the School Committee by <br />#. Mrs. Anderson.. <br /> 4.5 Cape Cod Classroom 'Times - Mrs. Cook acknowledged the <br /> art work in the March 29th issue of the Casae Cod Fires by Cape <br /> Cod students. There were Mashpee entries that deserved <br /> recognition. <br /> 4.6 Career Day - Mrs. Lynch thanked all Coombs School Career <br /> Day participants who spoke to the children today in school. <br /> 4.77 Quashnet River School "Fiver- of Read in - Mrs. Lynch said <br /> the fish "look excellent!" <br /> Co ni- 5.1 M.A,S.C. - Mrs. Lynch said M.A.S.C. is offering an Internet <br /> cations service to all School Committee members at no chane. Member <br /> should contact Dr. DeMoura for further information. <br />
