4. Request for 2018 Bodywork Facility and Bodywork Practitioner Licenses (Erin Peterson).
Glen Harrington stated that Erin Peterson requested a Bodywork Facility Permit and a Bodywork Practitioner
Permit. The facility is located at Deer Crossing, Building C, Unit 23B. The floor plan has been provided, men's
and women's bathrooms are available and also a hand sink in accordance with the Board of Health regulation.
Ms. Peterson submitted her master's degree of reiki healing which is current and meets the requirements for a
practitioner.
Laurel Almquist made a motion that the Board of Health approve the 2018 Bodywork Facility Permit and
Bodywork Practitioner Permit for Erin Peterson to practice reiki at Deer Crossing subject to an inspection of the
facility by a Health Agent. Brian Baumgaertel seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved.
5. Request for One-Year Extension for Septic Installation -- 31 Amy Brown Road.
Glen Harrington remarked that the buyer of 31 Amy Brown Road requested a one-time, one-year extension to
the permit approved on August 20, 2015, by the Board of Health. The request was issued prior to 30-days of
expiration. The buyer has been working on a house design along with permitting from the Conservation
Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals over the last three years. This is a small vacant parcel with wells
on the property lines on both sides. The owner is trying to move one of the abutter's wells so that he can
increase the distance over 100 feet to both of the abutter's wells
Laurel Almquist made a motion that the Board of Health approve the one-time, one-year extension for 31 Amy
Brown Road. The new expiration date will be August 20, 2019, and the Certificate of Compliance must be
issued prior to that date. Brian Baumgaertel seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved.
6. Variance Request from Recreational Camp Regulations: Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod.
Glen Harrington commented that the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod is requesting a variance from the Camp
Regulations to increase their attendance to 140 campers with only 4 sinks. The Board has approved this
variance since 2009 for 130 campers. The number has increased to 20 over the minimum requirement. No
complaints were received at the 130 camper level. Another wash basin would accommodate 150 campers.
Mr. Harrington also remarked that the Boys & Girls Club typically requests a fee waiver for the camp fee of
$100.00, which should be addressed by the Board at this same time.
Laurel Almquist made a motion that the Board of Health approve the request for the variance for the Boys &
Girls Club of Cape Cod from the Sanitary Code 105 CMR Section 430 with the conditions of an inspection by
the Health Agent during the hours of operation, and any complaints regarding the convenience of using the
bathroom facilities shall require Board of Health review of the variance. Also, approve the fee waiver of
$100.00 for the recreational camp fee. Brian Baumgaertel seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously
approved.
7. Variance Request from Recreational Camp Regulations: Mashpee Village Summer Camp.
Glen Harrington remarked that this is a request for a variance from Camp Regulations regarding the toilet
facilities approved by the Board last year. The number of campers was set at 30, and the variance is approved
for one season only, which must be re-approved each year. 36 campers are requested for this year.
The second variance requested, in regard to the age of the camp director, is not necessary as the regulations
have changed so that the Director does not have to travel with the campers off-site.
Laurel Almquist made a motion that the Board of Health approve the variance request for 1 Wampanoag Drive,
Mashpee Village, with the condition that there is a maximum of 36 campers. This variance applies to the 2018
year only. Brian Baumgaertel seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved.
8. Request One-Time Fee for Annual Temporary Food Permit: Wild Game Sausage Man.
3
