Mr. Zicko said batteries and
transformer contain chemicals but the chemicals will be in the units, not bulk storage.
• Mary LeBlanc suggested some of the committee look at the site and see how buffers and site
will impact neighbors.
• Mary asked whether size will be large/medium/small station. Mr. Zicko said he would say
medium.
• Walter Yarosh noted they are clearing about 2-112 times what's there now and asked whether
the area could be staked off when committee takes the walk through. Mr. Zicko said that can
be done and he will notify Building Inspector when it's staked so site visit can be scheduled.
• Mary asked whether anything done to reduce sound? Mr. Zicko said usually done by
transformer itself. He said that's standard; the transformer they buy has sound walls built in.
Mr. Zicko will provide the information they have on the sound input to the committee.
• Walter said roughly '/ of the easement will be cleared...is there any rule that says you can't
plant a screening material up to a certain height along the buffers of the road edges? Mr.
Zicko said NERC regulations govern height limit and he will get a copy of NERC height limit
requirements for the committee.
Conclusions:
• Tom said they have to go to Planning Board and once they file Special Permit then they have
to come back to Design Review/Plan Review.
• Mr. Zicko said within 2 weeks they should have their information and will notify Charlie
Maintanis when they can have site visit.
Work Out World (WOW)
106 Falmouth Road
Candy Scurio
Informal —To discuss code violations, signage and
Possible renovations associated with code violations
Candy Scurio and Peter Howell appeared. Candy stated that Work Out World became owners of the
gym last December; it previously was Gold's Gym with a local owner and now it is a corporate-based
company, Therefore, Cindy said all communications should be sent to Corporate. She asked that all
communications be directed to her. Charlie Maintanis said that's why we got together to
communicate and discuss some of the issues of the Building Department and Fire Department.
Listed below are some of the issues mentioned by Charlie et al.
• Glen Harrington noted issues were inside the building and with the building itself were water
issues and they dealt with the owner on that for several years. Water is one of the biggest
issues and mold that would grow because of the moisture. Glen said he thinks WOW has
taken care of the building issues; they've done painting and taken care of a majority of Board
of Health issues.
• Glen said the roof leaks and Board of Health going back to the owner on that issue.
• Joel Clifford said there are several issues with sprinkler system that need to be resolved.
• The path of egress travel from the tanning rooms does not meet the minimum width required
by the Building Code.
• Damaged panic hardware on the main entrance door.
• Charlie said temporary wall to be taken down.
2
